Well, it's finally finished. This one to one creation of my favorite pin complete with Bats is now playable on PS3 with LBP2. Over two months of work i have managed to capture every element of the real game with every detail. Hope you all enjoy it!!

very well done!!!

#3 10 years ago

You did that in LBP2!!!!!??

Holy cow man, that is amazing! how can I find it?
Im a developer and 3d animator...my mind is officially blown.

I have always mused about building a pinball game in LBP, never thought this would be possible, nor have I ever had the inspiration or patience to do so.

Good god, man. You're a mad scientist. Maybe you should have made Frankenstein!

He did and it's bad ass! He also did WOZ and another pinball machine...they play very well!! Just look up his GT on LBP2 and you should be able to jump on his planet and play these tables. I'll have to check back with BSD tonight....looking even better 3rd!

Thanks man, I to do 3d animation (Max) and am currently looking for work It seems to be a natural for me to make these and would love to do this professionally. i had this table modeled in LBP in a day and a half, but i had the real machine of course. lighting was one more and the logic took me about three full days. I could do this stuff all day its really enjoyable. I want to do so many more. I have so many crazy ideas for my own layouts and gameplay too. Sky's the limit. I live i New Jersey and have even considered working for JJ pinball.

#8 10 years ago

Wow - That is just amazing

#9 10 years ago

You can now also adjust the G.I. with the "D-Pad" and the Global illumination.

#11 10 years ago

what is the motivation to recreate in LBP as apposed to PC emulators? is it easier to write rules?

#12 10 years ago

Sort of, i mean i don't really have anything for comparison. Never tried a PC emulator before. LBP is just simple logic, and, or, x-or switches, randomizers and selectors for writing rules. You are really just setting up "conditions" i suppose. Looks like this...

#13 10 years ago

It has its downfalls thought like for instance the collision detection doesn't refresh fast enough so ever so often you will get a ball that will literally "pass threw" objects like the flippers but the inventory of stuff you get with the game is vast like sound effects, materials, maps and shaders and modeling is super easy. In the end i guess its just for fun and an exercise in being able to do it at all

If you have LBP2 just do a search for Thirdaxis01 and you will see all of my levels including WOZ pinball.

Here is a look behind the scenes with some of the boards opened up.

#16 10 years ago

The two identical boards in the middle are for "rats" and "bats". The one on the far right is for the Coffin ramp and coffin multiball.

#17 10 years ago

This is a shot of the wires and playfield connections.

Amazing work!

Is this table (or similar creations) transferable to PS Vita?

Thanks I think you can play it on the Vita, yes.

#22 10 years ago

Well shit, I guess I'll be downloading LBP2 and checking this out. Any other tables out there?

#23 10 years ago

Besides the three i have published not really anything on the same level but you can check out a creator by the name of Shweetdude. He has a large selection of tables published and hey any pinball is good pinball if you ask me

#24 10 years ago

Some more shots.

That is what I would call a brilliant re-imagining of a table. It makes me wish that tables on The Pinball Arcade would have a remixed mode with added features and effects like you have added to your Dracula table.

That looks like some great work you have done there.

#26 10 years ago

You got the DMD into the game as well?! NICE!

#27 10 years ago

Thanks. Makes it so much better. Now you just need to get first place so i can put your name up!

#28 10 years ago

LBP2 is free to dl for PSN+ subscribers (in the EU anyway). I've just grabbed it myself so I'll check this out as soon as I work through all the tutorial bunk.

#29 10 years ago

Its worth every penny i hope you enjoy it. The physics could be better but it is all i can squeeze out of the game.

#30 10 years ago

Very impressive!

#31 10 years ago

Im considering making another. Maybe an older electro-mechanical one like Sky Lab or Space Mission would be cool, idk. Maybe wait for the first shots of The Hobbit machine by JJ that would be fun.

#32 10 years ago

No way man....don't do any EMs....too much pizzazz with all the tools you have to work with to waste it on a low key EM....not that I have something against them. I would do a solid state like Atlantis or Fathom...something you don't see every day but can work with the limited scope of layers and at the same time use them up as well. You could really pull this together.

I hope you keep making tables....I know it's a small niche but the community on LBP2 seems to agree....pretty cool stuff and you have a passions towards it!

#33 10 years ago

I think we need to take a poll. lol

#34 10 years ago

Im looking at Black Night 2000. Would be cool to do plus the music is kick ass. And i don't see a remake of it by future pinball or anything.

How much of this LBP2 game must I play to get to your pinball machines?

#37 10 years ago

Its been a loooong time but i think you just have to finish a few boards and tutorials then you can search for Thirdaxis01 and play. There is alot of stuff in this game but its worth it.

#38 10 years ago

Ok, so you have to go through all the tutorials. Which is 7 easy levels for anyone who is curious.

I was curious enough that I dropped $20 on this game soley to see your pin. I have to admit, thats pretty impressive. The gameplay is no VirtuaPin, but I am sure thats just the limits of the medium, not your fault.

Congratulations on a job well done.

#39 10 years ago

Oh the flippers could use a small boost, There was no way to get the ball up the ramps unless you were coming off a rebound. Maybe thats how it is in the real one? Never played it in person. Also, there were times when the lighting was so dark, I couldn't see the flippers hehe.

#40 10 years ago

If you have the ball rolling onto the flipper and wait until its at the end you can get it up the ramps no problem. You can also nudge it for a boost by hitting either R2 or L2. Also if you get the ball into the Asylum (left of the left ramp) it also boosts the ball. You can also adjust the lighting with thE D-Pad if it's to dark for you to see. Whats your name on LBP? i will send you a friend request and show you behind the scenes of how its made.

Ver. 1.7 now updated! Better ball physics, rubber post bounciness improved, slingshot response improved, extra ball glitch fixed and some additional mods added.

#44 10 years ago

Version 2.0 will have a guest appearance from Dracula himself with an ultimate boss battle to the death!

#45 10 years ago

Brilliant !

I am freaked out as last night I had this crazy dream of 2D graphics being projected above the flippers , very similar to the way you did it

Fantastic work man !

Winner !

#46 10 years ago

The ideas keep coming

#47 10 years ago

I am currently debating whether or not i should do another table based on the new PS4 coming out and will there be a LBP3 title launched next year. Only time will tell.
