Just got a BSD that is cosmetically beautiful, 8/10. Board is clean (9/10).

The Mist mode work as I tested it. It does seem extremely loud. I'm not sure if it's the Motor or what.
I've read that they are not maintainable. Is this true. Marco Specialties is out.

Any tips on making the Motor run more quietly?

I've had a heck of a time finding LEDs that go into this type of Slot. My Comet Ghostbusting LEDS and PinbalLife LEDS don't seem to want to fit. Anyone know of a trick?

Quoted from Ballsofsteel:

buy a 'flex' led, then you can adjust it to fit the insert

I think I will buy some Flex LEDs for just this. They don't put of enough light if you don't. I was
thinking of sanding down some of the plastic on the #555 LED wedge.

Anyone Else? Experience this?

#3430 3 years ago

Sadly LEDS are hard to photograph. Definitely pops!
I've put some Violet LEDs in Mine. Really looks insane. Not sure how to photograph it without the LED flare.

#3438 3 years ago

So far my Dracula is looking great with the LED's still haven't had time to "Rock In" The new #555 into the green board wedge socket.

Anyone know how to identify what "Type" of play field you have? I hear about the "S" play field alot

#3458 3 years ago

SP (Sun Process) vs LS (Lenc Smith). SP is what you want ideally. I suppose I will clear coat my backup playfield.

I've run into an issue where the game ejects two balls at the same time during gameplay?

Any ideas. I'm having difficulty finding documentation for the ball return trough / switches. Any ideas where I can find a schematic of this.
I don't see it in the Manual

My game worked perfectly for about 20 minutes last night. Then the same issue reappeared.

Issues:
#1. Game seems to operate fine. Then Kicks one ball automatically into the game during play.
#2. One ball empties game continues until final ball drains.
#3. If ball save has elapsed. Ball 2 or 3 will Auto Kick. I don't have to press button.

I've read there are OPTO's in the Myst gate. I this true?
Does anyone think their is a correlation between Optos in Myst gate and this issue?
I think all my Switches are working fine ATM.

Just wondering if my insight is correct before doing anymore work on this.

This game was extremely dirty. I've been through about 65% of the game cleaning and replacing bulbs with LEDS. I've got alot of work to do on this game still.

#3508 3 years ago

Thanks GreenMachine. I'm hoping this is the issue.

#3510 3 years ago

The game "just fixed itself" now it runs 100% as it should. I left in on for a couple hours. Game seems to work fine.

Did it simply demagnetize itself? Is there a power issue?

The joy's of pinball ownership..

#3513 3 years ago

The gremlins are back. I'm fairly certain it's the Opto's at this point. It didn't fix itself...

Quoted from AlexSMendes:

Haven't you ever heard about the pinball ghosts that disappear with balls and fix some issues? Some say it's an urban legend, but I do believe because some weird stuff happened with me more than once!

#3514 3 years ago

Rebuilt flippers last night with the FL 15411 coils that came with machine. Replaced everything but coils. Amazing how much power these coils have. Game play ridiculously fast now.

Hopefully I can resolve the last remaining issue this weekend.

@MMP hopefully your cat won't sh|# and pee under your pins like mine has over the last few months. Note cat in this pic is not the culprit.

Finely had some time to get under the glass this week.

Problem I'm having is Troubleshooting Switch 82 (Ball on Magnet)
The Ball on Magnet test

I'm trying to determine if I have a Bad Opto pair, Alignment issue, or the A-15646 board is shot.

Manual say's these are Long Range Opto's when I look them up in the manual it says
part No A-14315 / A-14316

Anyhelp here greatly appreciated.

#3549 3 years ago

Thanks everyone. Pinballrehab link does a great job of describing and troubleshooting this problem. Hopefully I don't end up having to replace the 24" opto board.

Replaced my 24" opto board. Starting to think the issue is within the opto itself.

What Long Range Opto Part number is this. I can't seem to find them anywhere.

Back in the Club with an amazing SP. Won't be letting this go Ever. Missed it so so much.
Paid up for the SP in amazing condition. No fade on cabinet.

Working on Magnet issue now but should have that ironed out sooner than later.

#6282 9 months ago

I've been looking for a beater or SP for almost a year. This is better than I had hoped for!

Repainting the Models is probably the best thing I've seen done to this game.

I like where the Coffin Mod above with casket was going. I'd just make some kind of Stone platform to go under i to replace the atrocious original plastic.

Quoted from mollyspub:

You won't. BSD is not friendly for a family setting or with casual players.

My kids love BSD. They rock it stacking modes and bonuses. 9 years old
