Quoted from aobrien5:

Congrats. Looks like a great packing job.

Thanks! There was a whole 'nother layer of blankets and shrink wrap the movers used that they removed before they left. I did a cursory review for any damage before I reluctantly headed back to work.

Where did you get this from?

California.

The long metal plate running along the left side should go inside the molded buildings. At least it does on mine.

I would test all the switches and optos. There are mechanical switches under the playfield on either side of the playfield that make when the magnet carriage is at far left and far right. Make sure those are adjusted so they change state in switch edge test when the carriage is at the furthest points left and right.

There is what they call a left pocket opto that detects when a ball is in the left side mist area. Make sure this works in switch edge test. Then there's the long range opto that detects the ball as it travels across the playfield. In switch edge test, put your hand along the path where the mist ball would travel and see if the mist optos open and close as you move your hand up/down.

There are also a secondary black plastic opto shroud and brass L-bracket behind the left ball pocket area to help reduce interference from external lights and flashers that should also be installed on the playfield. These are located in front of the black receiver opto on the left side.

There's not much more to the system, but it sure can be a PITA to get it working.

I'm wondering if someone can run a test for me on their game. Go to tests and then GI tests and run through all the GI string tests. I have one (I believe it's the last backbox string test connected to Q12) that doesn't dim for me. I just want to make sure mine has an issue before I pull the driver board out and change the triac.

Quoted from Cserold:

does anyone have a link to a PDF version of the BSD manual? Could also email to [email protected] if you have one in PDF format. Thanks guys!! Craig

Always check IPDB, they have many manuals for games. They have the link towards the middle of the page under documantation.

Can someone with a BSD do a quick test for me? Can you go to Tests then GI Tests and run the GI string tests. I'm interested in the last string test that is run off Q12. Does the last string dim like all the other GI strings? Mine doesn't and before I replace Q12, just want to make sure mine is really having issues first. Thanks.

Depends what he's selling the game for. You can easily remove the post, but it's going to leave a hole that you can either leave or fix. Typically games that have posts they are not directly between the flippers but lower. But since the Love Never Dies insert is about where the post would normally be on games that have them, they opted to install it even further down. I think it's far enough down you can remove it and repair it and it wouldn't be really noticeable if you did a halfway decent job.
