Can someone tell me if it's possible to turn off the knocker? I don't care for it....and I could not find the setting to disable it.

#8880 2 years ago

I joined the club last week. I've been playing non stop. I re-watched the movie over the weekend and it made me want to play the game even more.

Does anyone know what size / type of screw goes to this ramp flap. The screws I have do not sit flush.

I thought I would share something that happened on my machine last night. Maybe someone can explain why, or even how this happened. However, let me give some back story here.

When I first got my game, I immediately replaced the balls. I thought I removed all the balls. I remember finding 3 balls in the trough. It never occurred to me that a 4th ball was located with the mist magnet. I remember thinking…….weird………this is only a 3 ball game? So I replaced the balls and played the game. A few days later, I read that BSD was a four ball game. So, I inserted another ball into the game. I remember wondering……….if it’s a 4 ball game, how was it playing with only 3 balls? I intended to find an answer. By the next day I completely forgot about looking into this.

Again, it just never occurred to me that a fourth ball was with the mist magnet. Those brain cells must have been sleeping. So…for a few weeks, my game was running with 5 balls.

Last night, I turned it on, and noticed something was off. The ball automatically launched onto the playfield…then immediately another ball would load up into the shooter lane. When the first ball drains, that second ball would automatically launch. Rise and repeat. Turned off the machine, turned it back on and got an error report for switch 17. Turned off, looked at switch 17, and all appeared good. Tested all the switches, everything was good. Flipped the game back on, same issue. It was then that I realized I had 5 balls in the game. 1 in the shooter lane, 1 at the mist magnet, 2 in the trough close to the shooter lane and 1 ball in the trough “pocket” below the flippers. My mind was blown. So I removed 1 ball. Then the game played normal again. I’m wondering if my 5th ball was stuck and hidden somewhere all this time.

Need some knowledge here as im still learning. I wanted to take a look at my batteries. It looks like my board has no battery holders? Yet my scores and settings are saved. What am I missing here?

Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Someone at some point has installed an NVRAM chip. That or there's wires soldered on the back of the board going to a remote battery holder. Most likely NVRAM

Do NVRAM chips ever need to be replaced? If that time comes, is it as easy as pop the old one out and install a new one?

#8962 2 years ago
Quoted from CoolCatPinball:

Unless the chip goes bad, no. Not to my knowledge. You're good to go. If it does need replacing at some point (very unlikely), it's probably just as you said. Pop old one out, put new one in. Some games do require the chip to be soldered in, but I don't THINK Dracula does. Someone else here may correct me if I'm wrong,

Thank you very much for taking time to answer my questions

#8966 2 years ago
Quoted from DumbAss:

Two things.

Your board has a RAMTRON FM1608. This is FRAM (NVRAM).
Your board is a TwoBits board. Be careful when using external SEMS screws at the bottom that the solder mask is NOT removed exposing the copper trace underneath. If this happens you will short the +5V rail to GND.

[quoted image]

Good to know. Thank you.

Had to get a topper of some sort for my BSD. I knew I wanted something that was not "flat." I decided to go with this.

Impressive! Where did you get that?

I got it from some guy named camilleri3d. I guess he is known within the 3D Printing community.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Suddenly, my 3 GI lamps for the rollover lanes have stopped working. All was good, then I installed some cliffys.....nowhere near those lamps...turned my machine back on. And now they don't work. I went I to test mode and ran all lights and flashers.

Thoughts???

Quoted from blastbeat:

Break in the daisy chain? Game was off most likely when putting in the cliffys but otherwise fuse possibly? I've had that string not work for me but I fried a connector. I'll have to look but maybe J120..

I could not see any breaks in the daisy chain. Machine was off when I installed the cliffys. Once I powered back on, I didn't notice at first. I did finally notice the lights were not working because I had previously attached a cemetery light. This was hooked up to one of the GI Lamps mentioned above. I noticed the cemetery light was not working. Thats when I notice those 3 lamps were not working.

Anyone else have any advice they can offer? I reseated plugs J113, J115, J120, J121 and then plugged back in. Fuses F106, F107, F108, F109, F110 look good. Fuse 115 looks a little wonky but I has told 115 doesn't control the GI. I did notice the 3 GI bulbs listed in my previous post are daisy chained to about 4 or 5 other bulbs. Those too are not lighting. All wiring to each bulb looks secure. I don't see any broken wires. I checked all plugs on the board. Didn't see any burned plugs.

I am at a complete loss....

Well this is a first. I occasionally get the ever so loving ball flying off the wire ramp / rail. However this is the first time the ball got stuck here.

Okay guys, I'm pretty sure my issue was answered in another post but I can't seem to find it.
Anyways, my mist magnet works perfectly in test mode. Ball goes from one gate to the other. However during game play, the ball, when leaving the right side gate....will drop before it enters the left gate. It's like the magnet just stops magnatizing. Seems to happen. Near the "D" in Dracula.

Thoughts?

#9467 1 year ago
Quoted from LTG:

Broken wire in the coiled harness you can't see cutting power to the magnet ?
LTG : )

If that was the case, would the ball also drop during test mode? In test mode, the ball makes it all the way across.

A question to all......since you've had your BSD....how many offers have you received?
I myself have had 3 offers with a $ amount mentioned and I've had about 2 or 3 "if you ever decide to sell it, let me know."

I'm on the fence about getting the color display, is it a real wow feature?
I'm having a hard time justifying the cost. Display is almost $500 and speaker panel another $100.
Looking for everyone's opinion.

In my opinion, its definitely worth it.....especially if your BSD is a keeper. I remember once I ordered my color display, I was second guessing myself. Once I had it installed, I can NEVER go back to the regular display.

Quoted from RudeDogg1:

There is no list they will be for sale in a couple weeks. Think I will be doing them in waves of 3-4 cuz they take so long to cast and paint. But they won’t be limited I’ll keep going until no one wants them or I get fed up of making them

Add me to the list please.

I just put in my order for the Coffin and Tombstone with torches. So looking forward to these.

Anyone interested in a trade? I have the BSDRACULA 3-D Tombstone Cover Mod from Morpheus and the BSD Dracula Mod from Pinball Customs. I would trade these for the BSD LED Castle and Ruins & Elizabeta Tombstone Switch Covers from Medisinyl (seen here https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/bsd-interactive-led-stained-glass-castle-switch-covers-mod-thread)

Anyone?

Some recent additions to my machine. Although nowhere near as nice as the Medisinyl LED castle....it does hide the ugliness of the switches

Quoted from Luke_Nukem:

Umm... that blows meds mods out of the water... Where the heck can I find this??

This is a 3D printed "church ruins walls" i had purchased. Its basically multiple parts which you snap together to your liking. Once I found the design that worked, I had them set sent off to be professionally painted to my liking. What you see is the result.

I thought about removing the "brides" and expanding the walls to take up more space.

#10264 10 months ago
Quoted from Bohm:

So you bought the files and printed them yourself or bought the actual models?
They're awesome by the way

I bought the actual model from an etsy seller. The set comes in multiple sizes to choose from. I got the 28 mm size. The next size up was 32 mm and I feel that size would probably be too tall for the area.

#10271 10 months ago
Quoted from Gogojohnnyquack:

Where did you get these guys?
[quoted image]

They are 3D prints, painted. At least that's what I was told. I came across them at a yard sale. I think they are used for D & D gaming. I had seen them before.....but actually bought from a yard sale. I had to add bases so they could be attached to the playfield.

#10276 10 months ago
Quoted from paulie484:

I sourced mine from here
https://www.printablescenery.com/product/impaled-skeletons/
picture hanging hook cut and bent out for the base
the idea is that they match the dmd graphic when the ball drains ![quoted image][quoted image]

Yeah...they make the ruin walls also. Luckily the ones I found are the same size as yours. Luckily I was able to save a few bucks.

I think I'm done pimping out my BSD. I decided to add more "decrepit wall" and a church.

Sheeeeeesh! Im not gonna lie... I cant look at mine the same way anymore after seeing yours.. Awesome additions!

I'm really happy with it. The wall, church, and castle entrance lookeven better in person.

#10368 10 months ago
Quoted from PBlank:

That Church Entrance looks awesome. Is that a mod you got somewhere or made?

It's a 3d printed piece I bought. The , I had it professionally painted. Added some lighting and attached to the playfield

One thing I love about my little double door entrance mod........is that it prevents any balls from flying off the rail......at least so far.
