Quoted from kevinleedrum:

Just thought I'd share a couple recent pics of my work-in-progress BSD, which I'm hoping to have completely rebuilt before my wedding at the end of July.

Can you please tell me what brand/type LEDs you are using under the slingshot plastics? And where did you buy them?

The game looks great!

Here is a picture of my game with some LEDs on the playfield and back box. Makes a huge difference. Not sure if you can tell or not, but I put RED LEDs under the D R A C U L A inserts and it looks a lot better than the original orange...

Hello MrBellMan. It's amazing the backglass of your BSD.
If not too much trouble, you can upload a photo without the glass????
I love the result and I would like to know the colors used to make mine so
Thanks and regards.

Glad you noticed. It looks even better in person... I have separated the blue/white lamps a bit to get the most of the blue clouds and the reds of the letters in Dracula. The violet on the bottom really makes the battle field scene it's own image and no longer just blends with the images around it.

This picture shows the colors. Everything else is just regular 555's or cool white LED's. Hope this helps.

Quoted from GaryMartin:

Do any of you have an issue where the ball launch ramp causes the ball to miss the skill shot drop target? My launch ramp (plastic) is a bit tweaked and I'm not sure which way to go with it to get it back to original.

I have the exact same issue on mine. When I launch the ball it only hits the drop target maybe 25% of the time. I can't tell if it's hitting the metal gate or just not launching fast enough (although my plunger is aligned and seems to be working well)... Very frustrating, but I have not spent a lot of time trying to trouble shoot it either. If this is a known issue, I hope some one can tell us the fix...

I thought this looked awesome, so I did the same thing with mine.

Way better! Don't you just love the blue???

I had the same issue with my BSD not hitting the skill shot. I thought it was the ramp and then I thought it was the gate and it ended up being the Plunger. I bought a new plunger put on a new sleeve and spring and it hits every time!

Thanks for the info. I ordered these today for my game. Hope it help my issue as it did yours.

Has anyone heard any info on the replacement ramps?

#437 10 years ago

Crap! Need to correct before Terry sends my order!

Thanks for the update...

#440 10 years ago

That's bad ass Joe!

I might have tried it if I didn't already have the proto slings installed. Might look great on the speaker grills though...

Well, I tried this fix (with the correct coil sleeve), but it didn't fix my issue. Launched balls are still hitting my metal gate. Thanks again for the fix though! Back to the drawing board...

Quoted from mulder2010:

Have some questions about BSD:How common is planking on the LS playfields and where does it typically appear? Is the plastic above the center stationary targets available?

I have an LS playfield and have no planking at all... Now, my playfield has full mylar with no bubbling, but no planking that I can see either...

MrBellman, congratulations again for the great work. XD

Thank you very much! Enjoy!

Quoted from Drano:

Also, this BSD had a really poor botched attempt at re-applying the reds. Someone actually used brushed on acrylics!
I found some special acrylic pens a while back that blend beautifully with no streaks or lines... and they come in various thicknesses. I was able to do a reasonable correction and still keep the cost of the machine down for the next guy... who seems pretty happy with it overall.

They should have tried the "Sharpie" method... Worked great for me!

Enjoy!

Quoted from skywalker:

nice result,
you mean sharpie permanent marker or did you use a paint pen type

Used only a "sharpie permanent marker". The results were awesome!

My BSD has been down. Im getting the F114 & F115 error and it goes spastic on boot up. Blows the F114 fuse every time. I ordered the schematics and manual cause the online stuff just wasn't cutting it. But I'm afraid this is going to beyond my skill level. Looking online as past post says i need to check the U20. So one i get my stuff ill be stracking it down and going from there. Kinda a bummer.

I had this recently on my CFTBL recently. I just had to replace BR2. Easy fix!

Good luck!

I think your switches are flaky. 43 showing when 42 should to me means that 42 is not registering correctly when depressed and the last switch that did register was 43. Just my thoughts of course...

I know it's hard to see, but I installed my black powder coated armor to my Dracula yesterday. I also installed my clear speaker panel and Color DMD LCD in anticipation of the color DMD ROM being released!

Just a little holiday love for our Drac!

Quoted from PoMC:

Yeah. So I've played 6 games with the normal flippers and they are staying. To me, all the shots now felt natural and I was able to get great flow going without having to try and compensate for shorter flippers. The game just flows with regular bats and makes the game really fun for me.

I didn't think the flippers were that much smaller. I love my smaller lightning flippers! I actually bought a set of blood red flippers, to swap down the road.

#3104 8 years ago
Quoted from bigd1979:

Where did you find the blood red lighting flippers? I want I want lol

Blood Redregular, not blood red lightning...

Not enough blue to match the rest of the art for me. I was thinking of getting though till I saw MrBellman's lighting on the stock translite. Those colors make the art pop.

Thanks for the props! It looks even better in person.

I'm actually slowly moving back to the incandescent bulbs in my games. I honestly think the playfield looks better old school. Not removing all, just the ones that are not flattering to me. My backglass setup stays though!

Any rumors going around about BSD ramps? Are the gears slowly turning on this project?

I was told they are actually still in the works! Fingers crossed we get them sooner than later.
