I have put out a list for any here who registered interest in the coffin mod. If anyone was left off by mistake you can let me know with a DM. Cheers.

I was just wondering if this project was still going - glad to know it is!

Quoted from dzorbas:

I realize this is a bit of a delayed response but I just installed a PIN2DMD display in my friends game a couple of days ago. The actually display took me less than 10 minutes to install. Probably about the same amount time to swap the speaker skin to the one with the clear plexi. We ordered the skin from CPR because we are located in Canada and he was okay with the different graphics.
I'm not sure what "crap" guys are dealing with. I've been selling these to people in the US and Canada for the past 4 years with almost zero issues. They come with the wiring harness and the colour files included. Bally/Williams installs are simple, other manufacturers are a bit more difficult. My pricing is essentially the same as Retrocity except I do it on the side and he runs it as a formal business. I'm in Canada and he's in Australia.
And for the guy that posted that ColorDMDs are brighter, that's not true. The LED versions basically use the same panels that are in the PIN2DMDs. And the ColorDMD LCD versions are not as bright as either of the LED versions.

Can you post some video? I would like to see looks.

I'm assuming you are asking for game play video. If so, here is a video that was posted by the author of the colour files:

Looking for a replacement for spring for the left gate assembly. It's the long thin spring that lifts the gate. Manual says part number 10-120. I see the whole assembly on Marco, but really just need the spring.

Thanks

Hello everyone, does your machine also have "false drains"? My machine sometimes has the game interrupted with the ball in play, I've seen this behavior in a YouTube video in a championship final, is this normal with BSD?

I've had the occasional false drain during a multiball, where I still have a ball in play but the game ends the play when the 2nd-to-last ball drains. It has happened so infrequently, maybe a few times out of 1,000+ plays, that I've never chased it down.

interesting, this is exactly what happens with my machine, the difference is that it happens quite often, in my last game it happened twice

It's an opto or trough switch issue. The game thinks there is a ball in one of the mist holes, castle locks or in the trough where there isn't one.

when in test switch the vibration of the left flipper causes ball trough 3 and 4 to be "turned off" for a brief moment sometimes, could this be the problem?

I am not sure part 10-120 is the one you are looking for. This looks like the one I went with:

Finally got around to making a sticker for the outside of the ramp using adhesive photo paper. Didn’t go super smooth as the orignal was bubbling but is an improvement over the white backing . Thanks for who made the image

Unfortunately, manuals are not always as accurate as you'd hope.

Someone needs to make a website for hosting manual correction pages. Then everyone can print one out and stick it in their manual.

There, I made my own matte black small switch cover.

Hey guys - so I'm in the process of shopping out a project BSD and came across a little dilemma. I purchased a repro plastic set from planetary in Oct of 23 (I know projects take me forever). Well I just got around to installing them and noticed the one for the right side doesn't have the proper cut outs in it. I'm curious if all the repro sets are like this? I sent them an email to see if they can send me the correct one. I don't know if they'll honor it since the order is so old but I don't want to install the old plastic and I don't have the skills or tools to cut proper holes in the repro one. The repro one won't fit as is without the additional holes.

I'm just trying to figure out if I'll even be able to get a proper repro plastic for this area since the OG one is broken.

Anyone do purple LEDs on the pops and have pics?

Mine has blue LEDs and I’m not sure I like it. Also, don’t think I like red either lol.

Literally this exact same thing happened to me when I was redoing mine as well.. Of course I had been sitting on the same set you bought for months before I actually got to installing.

Wow, that’s a lot of purple!
Looks cool. I’m sure it looks even more cool in person. It’s hard to see how LED’s look on photos.

I’m going to give it a try but I’ll probably only do the pop bumpers in purple.

Appreciate the pics, thanks!

Just an update on this. I had emailed planetary and they shipped me a replacement plastic yesterday. Crisis adverted.

#11431 15 days ago

Just bought me a Dracula, and as it was in a dark room I couldn't see that the red on the side was touched up with a red marker.

So now i'm going to see what I can do about it. Does anyone have a high res scan or picture from the logo + dracula letters
that are on the side (dracula head) that I could use to mask it and maybe airbrush the red parts?

The rest of the cabinet is in good shape, just the red, as always.

thx in advance

Just getting my pf for gothic V2 finished. I ditched all the switches and went magnetic reed switches hidden under the ramps...fingers crossed!

Hi Kurt KJS .... What type of MRS' are you using under the ramps......I don't see you sourced them from us..... Just curious....

Amazing work KJS
the rats are really cool, I would make them a little smaller so I can see the ball returning to the flippers

#11438 14 days ago

Hello everyone, is it normal for the 10 opto board under the playfield to get very hot? After 30 minutes with the machine on without even starting a game, when I put my hand on the playfield over the word Dracula I feel an area of heat in the region where the 10 opto board is located.

Love that color palate! Yeah completely agree, why worry about covering those switches when you can make them disappear with MRS. My plan exactly. Rats......cool concept but not proportional.

Hey all Going to revamp my BSD and I have a couple of questions. What are the best quality cabinet decals to go with, alternate or original and process is best for removal of old faded decals? Thanks in advance.

Any color. I did matte black to make them unnoticeable.

Just kidding on the rats, they'll be in the ceiling near the game when done...Switches are nos Williams originals.

You know where to find me if they don't work out - the OEM MRS' are bigger than ours and not as sensitive - may be tricky for the ramp openings...they typically are 4-5mm, ours are 7mm sensitivity....

I was getting ready to list my game, and noticed that I have a disconnected wire. I looked at the schematic for the right flipper, and I'm not confident enough to know what I'm doing. Can anyone tell me where this should be attached?

End of stroke switch has two wires right now. An orange one and a black one. Your loose orange wire solders onto the orange wire already on the EOS switch.

I've been a proud member of the club since last Saturday! I love the theme, the score and the call outs.

A quick question - I couldn't find anything about this either here in the forum or through the image search: As standard, there is actually no foam on the right ramp that leads into the inlay to cushion the impact, right? The first few times I heard this noise „clack“ I thought that someone was opening the door to my game room...

#11448 12 days ago

Not sure what you mean by "inlay", but if you are referring to the lock, there is no cushion - just a post that drops, so you may be able to hear a metal to metal noise. My hearing is not that good!

#11449 12 days ago

I think he meant "inlane". If there's no cushion there you should add one to minimize wear and tear.

That‘s right. No rubber pad, just metal…
