I just happened to think. The wood ones are on a Lenc Smith playfield and the metal ones are on a Sun Process. Interesting. The companies must have made them different because the mounting holes are completely different with each playfield.

#1052 5 years ago

Hm. Maybe an early production thing then, because mine is an LS, too.

#1053 5 years ago

Metal board also LS

Quoted from aobrien5:

This isn't an LS vs SP playfield thing, is it?

can someone tell me what are the differences between LS & SP, could not find any info in the quick search

#1055 5 years ago
Quoted from Kawasakiltd:

From this to this in a afternoon. It was really dirty. But is cleaning up very nice.

Will play nice when all cleaned up, my subways were pretty dirty also,

Who's signed the PF

SP is the better of the two. LS playfields seem to have a lot of issues with ghosting under the inserts. You won't find that with the SP.

and the LS ones plank more, see mine for an example...

#1058 5 years ago

Mines a LS with metal guides, did a strip & clean & noticed the PF is holding up pretty well, very minor planking in the sling area

any other ways to know what PF you have without removing the apron or lifting the hood up

If you really want to make it stock, change out the center red targets on the left and right side with yellow ones, or change out the plastic faces.

A shop out guide I picked up a few years ago, that might help others.

Robert

Edit: Unable to post a *.pdf, so if anybody wants it, PM me with an email address.

#1063 5 years ago

I have new targets to install. 2 yellow 1 red like it should be just have not got that far yet.

#1066 5 years ago

Yes, someone must have uploaded it.

That file is a helpful documentation of a BSD shop job.

I started restoration of my BSD yesterday. After me and a buddy dropped it on one of the front corners, some structural repairs were needed. Only game I ever dropped.

Almost put back together, can't wait to fire her up and check out the new Led's as Well. Then play a game and hope all is well. Nice and clean for awhile. Still have to do the 3 front targets and I think 4 more coil sleeves. Might do leaf switches on the slings as well cause they are dirty and ugly Pinball life here I come.

This game is very brutal when clean and playing fast.

Just realized I never posted a link to my BSD restoration log on here for anyone interested. http://bsdpinball.tumblr.com/

Here are a few highlights.

#1078 5 years ago

i have another question,

have anyone a pic how the left building on playfield is mounted ? think at my BSD there are missing parts for mount the building with the two screws. so i only can place the building loose, and sometimes it happens if the ball is ejected the ball is thrown back the rail.

I don't, but as an alternative I have a spare backboard in fair shape or I can make a scan of that sticker for you.

After stripping my PF, ive decided id like to change the pop bumper and lane guides to blue. Some of you guys have amazing pictures of the bluemoon conversion, nice work!

Did you order light blue or blue?

Thanks

drop target BSD.jpg 124 KB

Wow! I wanted this picture of the drop target because I thought it was the switch that was bad. In looking at the picture I noticed the plastic piece didn't have the same "split" around the hold on clips.

I took that off and noticed it was cracked and broken instead of designed that way. Bought a new plastic drop piece for about $3, took 10 minutes to install, and now the skill shot, wolves and everything else work perfectly!

Fantastic! Thanks for the help!!!!!

I ordered "Blue" caps from http://www.pinballlife.com/index.php?p=product&id=327 though the description does say "light blue".

Putting together my LED list, When using LEDs in BSD, do you guys replace the 5 #89 flashers on the PF? If so what do you recommend?

#1088 5 years ago

I used a variety of cointaker flat 8, flex 8, and talls. They specifically recommended the flex 8, and I can see why, though I do think the talls are still best in the very back in the backboard.

If you do get it make a protector for it. That area where it broke is literally a 1mm thick.

Unfortunately I don't. Next time I have it open, I'll measure them for you, though. Assuming nobody finds them first.

Does anyone have a good scan of the BSD speaker panel?

I made one awhile back but wasn't happy with the end result (i.e. color, alignment). Want to check before I make another attempt.

Thank You.
