Put you game in switch test and take a pic I’ll send you mine as well
I left the club around 2 years ago, I was offered the game back 3 months later and passed on it. (I have never bought a same game twice)
Last week I sold/delivered a game, and to my surprise there was my old BSD.
I was in a position to add a game to my collection so I asked if it was for sale?
Yes!
I felt like BSD wanted to return to my Lineup, this game has heart and soul like no other. The game was really nice when it left me , but alot of work had been done to it since I owned it. Including radcals which look amazing.
Glad to be back in this club.
Drac is back, this time to stay!
Love never dies
Do you guys sand the cabinet down for radcals?
Quoted from dr_nybble:Beauty! I've done mine with RadCals and am working on BSD #2 and chose RadCals again.
In theory you can put RadCals on top of your existing cabinet. They are a thick rigid material. That said, I have sanded my cabinets down and repaired the edges/corners, and repainted. The corners, in particular, should be crisp. The RadCals go close to the edge of the cabinet and as they are rigid, they will not conform to a rounded-over corner, and hang over. I have a bit of overhang on my backbox top corners due to this.
Everyone has their own technique for drilling the holes. I used Forstner bits to cut clean holes. I turned one from inside the cabinet first by hand until the tip poked through, then used that as a guide to drill from the outside. I drilled them after they were placed on the cabinet.

I've never seen radcals in person. They are much more glossy and reflective than I realized. You can see the reflection of Dialed In perfectly in them. By the way, I love those crosses on the speaker grills. Do you know where I can get a set?
Just thought I'd share what Marcos center and slingshot plastics look like to anyone on the fence about ordering them. The slingshot(uninstalled) looks pretty good. The center plastic has a different shade of purple, but may look fine once lit. I haven't removed their protective film yet and will post a photo when installed.

What color Titans do you have? I’m thinking Red.
Quoted from Darscot:You can still the pin next in the line up. It’s no Dialed In though.
I’ll take POTO over Dialed In any day of the week.
Quoted from Gorgar666:What color Titans do you have? I’m thinking Red.
I use white on all the rings, but do use color and black on posts.
The torch and bat/stake handle files for the coffin set are now free to download on Thingiverse (these were discontinued earlier on, and some had requested the files):
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4857211
The main BSD files won't be released.
I believe I've satisfied everyone that was on the waitlists (if incorrect, let me know and I'll offer precedence if possible).
I have one ruins set, and 4 coffin sets remaining from the final runs (these are out of production and won't be made again). If interested, the ruins set is $103.99 shipped domestic, and the coffin set is $115 shipped domestic (if both are purchased, shipping will be reduced by $7.99). If international, PM for a quote.
Thanks again to everyone that supported these mods over the years.
EDIT: One coffin set remaining (ruins have been claimed).
Added over 3 years ago:EDIT 2: These have now all been sold.
Quoted from Drac:Wow that coffin looks great!
It does. Even better installed.

Do the flashers inside the coffin show through the sides at all (like the original)? That replacement coffin looks fantastic but quite opaque.

While I hadn't noticed it on the original, only the marble version of the coffin mod allows light to pass through.
^ That looks so cool and I'm kind of embarrassed to follow up your post.
I finished switching over my GI and inserts to LED tonight. Went with sunlight white for the GI.
Only bummer is I can't get the single LED lamp on my right inlane to light - tried a different bulb, twist socket, and tried resoldering the wires. I'm guessing there's a diode that needs replacing? A problem for another night.

You are my all-time fave mod dude![quoted image][quoted image]
I appreciate the glowing feedback. I'll try to live up to it
And you've got my "all-time fave" BSD
EDIT: All BSD mods have now been claimed.
Finally in the club! Its not my favorite art package or theme, but I’m absolutely addicted to the gameplay. It’s been in storage for 20+ years, so it needs a bit of love to shake some of the rust off, but it’s a great looking game. Very little cabinet fade, and almost no playfield wear.
I’m planning on doing a full topside tear down this summer. Mist optos need some cleaning I think. It works 98% of the time, but will occasionally just dump the ball into play without pulling it across the playfield.

Blasphemy!!
Congrats Max. Welcome to the coolest club on Pinside.

Hahahaha, my buddy says the same thing! I think the playfield looks terrific, just not a fan of the translite. If Aurich were to do something like he did for Shadow, I’d be all over it.
Still, theme is better than Shadow (imho), so this game probably won’t be going anywhere for a long while.

There is an alternate translite available for BSD. Several pinsiders have replaced their original BSD translite with it.

I'm right there with you, though have a small complaint about the playfield - it could use a better depiction of Dracula. Give us top-hat Gary Oldman, or weird old-man Dracula in the red robes.

I’ve seen that before. My big complaint is that I just don’t like photorealistic artwork on pinball machines, so I wouldn’t really consider that translite. Thanks though!

Did you see the black and white one? I kinda like it. Ignore my Pingolf rules.

Here's my choice...
image (resized).jpegI can appreciate all the efforts on the alternate translites but I think the original is the best. I love the flickering torches and the red moon. My favourite part is the field of stakes with bodies on them and the red sky behind - so cool. I use incandescent bulbs behind a lot of these areas to keep the soft flickering effect.
It's also cool when Drac speaks, the flasher goes off behind his artwork.
I don't think any of the alternate translites are as creepy.
Quoted from Santis:Is the opto called 24 Either on the left or the right pocket from mist multiball. I suggest you first try to clean the opto whit a little contact cleaner. If not you have a bad opto. (Is not reading the ball in the pocket). It shoot the other ball because is in the program. Game program was made to keep working even whit just 1 ball Back in the time operators sometimes didn’t have a technician on duty all the time. That way the game kept making money.
Yes i have also this 2times always the opti , low cost easy to replace
Before I spend a bunch of time tearing things apart, can anyone tell me if the coffin lift ramp is supposed to be perfectly flush with the stationary ramp behind it? Or is it being a little off like in my photo normal? I definitely feel the ball making contact with the ramp.
20210530_204407 (resized).jpgI got 2 questions for you folks. When I attempt to make the skill shot, the ball travelling up the shooter lane slams into the curve in an attempt to hit the target for the skill shot. When it slams into the curve though it loses the momentum and you lose the accuracy of the skill shot. How can I fix this?
The other is the plastic ramp that leads to the right in-lane has no rubber padding on the end to prevent the ball from slamming into it (repro ramps). In the past I tried to put a piece of rubber there but using a slow-mo camera it actually "bounces" the ball not perfectly straight down and it can go to the outlane. Is there a specific thickness rubber I need?
Quoted from Billc479:Roffels - Mine is the same way.
Thanks. Good to know as it wasn't obvious to me on how to make it better.

As far as your first question ... I'd start with making sure the ball eject is straight on when shooting the ball into play. Also you can tweek the ramp that leads into the skill shot. I actually left the middle screw off to give it a bit more give. I had a few issues with the repo ramps and needless to say... Not impressed.
Quoted from roffels:Thanks. Good to know as it wasn't obvious to me on how to make it better.
Mine is similar, maybe slightly closer to flush, but definitely a little ledge on the right side. I wondered the same thing, if I needed to adjust the lift ramp somehow. As it is, I get rejections about 10% of the time, so it’s not a big issue yet.

Hi. Mine is a little off. That’s why is a plastic covering the ramp entrance so the ball doesn't jump out.
If you're rejecting the skill shot, you're probably either missing the clear plastic above the shooter lane or have it installed backwards.

Hi. Is actually a metal stop bracket which stop the ball.

Old Bally flipperbats? Pre -87. Hard to tell, the image is a bit blurry.

Yes, they are Bally flipper bats. You need Williams if you’re not using lightning, which are thinner (yellow on the right).

ill look for more pics,I think the right flipper its a bit fatter and shorter than the other one
2021-06-02_1-43-19 (resized).jpgIt does look like the one on the right is a fat Bally flipper and the left could be a standard Williams flipper? Interesting. I really like lightning flippers on mine. Or the blood red Williams flippers are popular. Or you could try one carrot flipper and one banana flipper from that disco game to get super funky.
