Quoted from hawknole:

Lastly, I am working on a revised pinsound mix. The base is Hazzard’s superb mix with some great work from davebart5. This will take some time as I know how long LOTR took for me, hopefully not as long for BSD. When I am finished I will share and update here. Big fan of pinsound.

Jeez, I have a litany of responses to that and pretty much all of them are just so wrong, moving on...

Joined today. Machine is in players condition, normal wear spot, faded cab and a tiny bit of planking. It should clean up acceptably though.

"10 Opto board is shot, and will be replaced, it has attempted to have been repaired prior, unsuccessfully. The has also had some tomfoolery done inside the head, so I have onto issues (board), and no lights. Connections in the J120 - 128 region are cooled together from other connectors and spliced in via a screw header. The pinouts on the header used are i assume, salvaged from another machine as there is no wire colour continuity.. the wires have the length to make it to the socket, so i assume this was done rather than re-pinning a series of connectors properly
Someones gone snipping at some point for an unknown reason.

If anyone could post a few photos of their connectors in this area it will help me verify against the manual and re-pin/repair the section.

Tried to get the best I could. Someone “tagged” my wires so a little crowded. Just rejoined this club myself. I also double verify my wiring off the connectors listed in the manual. Noticed a little “tomfoolery” in my game when I took this pics. I like that word . Good hunting

Not sure if these help too. Thanks for making me look. Looks like my J121 needs to be cleaned up so I’ll repin it when I shop my game.

Just got my coffin mod from Pinball customs. WOW this thing is cool. very well made. A couple questions to anybody that owns one. obviously the tombstone lights are removed,(huge improvement) did you remove the 3 light assembly and the 4 posts under the original coffin. probable dumb questions I know. Thanks in advance.

Why would you remove the tombstone?
You do have to remove the light board and not the posts. However I didn't reinstall the top screws. Gave me just a tad more clearance that I needed.

#6408 4 years ago

Well Damn! had to go back a few posts to see what it looks like with tombstone installed. didn't think it would look right,
giving that he's in a crate. may have to re-think that one. maybe with a newer tombstone mod. really don't like the cheap look of the original. it is a bit dark without it though.

#6409 4 years ago

Since i'm here does anybody have a general cost of powder coating the ramps, legs etc.? before I take it apart. love the red.

Depending where you go, $170 to $250 should be the most for legs, siderails, LD bar and backbox hinges.

I installed a Pinsound Board/stereo kit in my BSD over the weekend with hazzard s sound/music re-orchestration. I tell ya...the re-orchestration just about blew my balls off! A MUST have add on. Its that good.

Holy Shit is this the truth!!! Just installed the pinsound board. This setup in this game really really makes a big difference. I actually got chills during one multiball. Tomorrow I am going to hook up the stereo wires.

Hacked connectors replaced and repinned. I now have gi and backbox lights back and no longer have a spliced wiring harness! Win!

One string of backbox seems to still be out, violet/violet white I think. Crimp looks good, I will blame charred header pins for the moment.

Thanks for the photos to double check against the schematic

Has anyone with a pinsound board fine tuned the dial settings with the hazard sound mix? If so what were your settings?

#6423 4 years ago
Quoted from sulli10:

Mine’s pretty optimal with these settings after playing with it multiple times. Too much low end and it starts to overload the speakers in the DMD panel.

#6424 4 years ago

It depends on what type of speakers you have installed. The factory ones are already pretty harsh in the upper treble region, so I would cut a bit there first. I dream of having a couple of parametric EQ 's on that board, just find the offending frequencies and cut.

Does anyone know a source for the metal guides/protectors at the entry to the left ramp? I am missing both the triangle piece and the rounded end straight metal piece that sit a the entrance to the left ramp.

Good luck with that! I'm missing the smaller one on the right side. I've been searching with no luck.If I come across any ill let you know.

Does anyone have any pics of the legs and lockdown bar plated. And the exact color, I have a powder coating place near me and just need to know the color used.

These were stainless from the factory and not plated.

I'm sorry, my question might not have been clear. I was referring to anyone who had them powdercoated red as a mod, as that will most likely be my next mod. I knew there was no red option from the factory.

#6430 4 years ago

That's a tough color to get right. Just ask Colsond3. Please not another red trimmed bsd.

#6431 4 years ago

Got my game a couple of weeks ago with stainless rails and lockdown but black powdercoated legs - was this how it came originally or are the legs supposed to match?

#6432 4 years ago

All stainless from factory

Thought so. Thanks for the confirmation.

Working on a coffin mod. Had planned to lift the lid only very little to let the red light spread out. Will use some red velvet to sit the coffin on and use some real small stones or some stone paneling to modify the base. Definitely not using the goofy looking Dracula they used in the original coffin.

Firecracker Red. Although just a hair darker would be perfect.

Found a new issue . Some mounts somewhere under the right castle lock are not correct. Anyone have a map of post lengths under the right ramp return?

Definitely a wrong length (too long front) post on the sling, assuming it’s swapped with under rocks, but haven’t torn down the ramp yet to look

Thanks. I tried these and they were a little too much for my ears. I went back to "neutral" on all settings and will tweak slightly from there.

Quoted from TDEX:

I just bought a set of 5 1/4 inch "Kicker CSC5" speakers for the back box. I got them at Bestbuy for a little over 50 bucks. I got them for their decent ratings and the speaker cone does not stick out far enough to require a spacer piece. You can also buy the Kicker 6 1/2 inch for the cabinet but need to buy a set of two for about the same price.

The Pinsound speakers have soft dome tweeters in them, which make them sound more pleasing to the ear. Most other cheap car speakers use cheap plastic tweeters, and they do require some EQ to get rid of that harsch treble...

What settings do you recommend with the car speakers? I am trying to figure out what I am adjusting with each of the pinsound knobs.

#6445 4 years ago

I bought my Dracula about 2 years ago, mostly for theme. It is the least played game of all the pins in my collection, both by myself and friends and family. I can't count the number of times the ball has gone SDTM or drained down the side without a single flip because of random bounces out of the pop bumpers and slings. I see people walk away in frustration and they don't come back to it.

The game is growing on me, especially after adding Pinsound, Hazzard's mix is incredible. But I can't figure out how to get the casual players to stay interested in it when cheap drains continue to happen.

#6446 4 years ago

Play better!

Do you have to have a special mounting bracket for those Pyle speakers, or will they fit on the DMD panel as is?

I don't notice this to be the case at all in my experience with the game. The game never frustrates me. I may be desensitized to cheap drains since I own GB and TWD though.

Quoted from sulli10:

I would try to dial down the EQ medium. A trick is to boost one dial at the time first to hear what frequency range they work with, then cut to taste. The bablance between cabinet and backbox speaker is just as important.

#6450 4 years ago

I like where the Coffin Mod above with casket was going. I'd just make some kind of Stone platform to go under i to replace the atrocious original plastic.
