Quoted from aobrien5:

There's a parts list in this thread somewhere. You leave the existing plastics.

Quoted from weaverj:

i think i used 3/4" spacers, but they were a little tight on the left side around the wireform ramp return. 1" would probably be perfect.

Cool. Thanks fellas.

I just joined the club. If anyone has a coffin mod they want to sell please PM me.

Thanks!

Quoted from Hazzard:

I am using different parts of the original movie score for the most part, edited for pase. One track is from the later Dracula Untold movie.

Hazzard, after listening to your Pinsound remix 20 times since you posted, I’m in. It’s friggin awesome man.

Two quick q’s:

1) It looks like I can buy the board with your mix already on it?

2) The purchase page states that no flash drive is included. Am I supposed to buy one of theirs because it comes with a backup of the sound software already burned? Or can I USB into the board and just back it up with my own flash drive? (Ok, so technically 3 q’s)

Good morning from Norway

You will need to download the mix from the pinsound community page, and then transfer it to a usb stick. Preferably a fast type 3 usb stick. Now, it is important to unzip the mix folder before transferring to usb stick. this way you can play almost instantly without having to wait for the board to unzip ( like 30 minutes or so..)

So, the board reads from the usb stick and nothing is really loaded into board memory.

You can also download the original sounds to the same usb stick, and easily switch between them by turning the volume all the way down. I do this sometimes, when in retro mode

PS: I see you also have a Frankenstein in your collection. I have made a mix for that too, check it out

#5605 5 years ago

Cool... thanks man. I just figured it would be faster to ask you, and I appreciate you offering the info.

I already checked out your mix for Frankenstein.

#5606 5 years ago

Starting to plan out my playfield swap and am looking to replace the coil sleeves. Thought someone sold them as a kit but can't seem to find it . Anyone???

#5608 5 years ago

Thanks man! Can't believe I missed it! Going to order lots of goodies from them tonight

#5609 5 years ago

looking at a BSD and the cabinet art doesn't come the whole way to the edge of the corners. you guys have any information on why there's a difference sometimes? the guy doesn't think it was redecaled, btw.

As far as I know, most of them don’t. Most stop short of the joints.

the two on the left look normal, but the one on the right is what i'm talking about. like the new decals are too small for the cabinet.

#5615 5 years ago

That cabinet looks normal to me too..

#5616 5 years ago

Hi guys. Had one guy not respond on the speaker panel so its up for grabs. 90us posted.

what?!

i guess not all decal sets are made the same. some are a little smaller showing a bit of the black cabinet underneath at the corners and edges. pretty sure that would bug me though. the hunt continues...

Not an owner, YET, but lately this game is in the 'can't stop thinking about it' category for me, so it's only a matter of time before I aggressively start looking. Anyways...

I consider myself fairly picky on details like this. I'm not sure which version is more legit, or as to what frequency these came off the line connected at the joints or not, but if it makes you feel any better, or sheds light on the discovery of what is original or not, HEP's restoration gallery has finished examples of a black trim and a chrome trim BSDs, and both has the space at the joints. And if you look behind the chrome trim machine there's another chrome BSD behind it with the same spacing. Thought it was worth sharing.

You may or may not know, (if you've never re-decaled a cabinet), that most advice would be to trim back the decals at the edges about 1/8" with an x-acto knife and a straight edge so that you won't catch any exposed decal edges and peel off the decal. After doing so you can either "paint" in the edge with a sharpie pen of the same color, or, like most would do, finish and paint the edges of the cabinet before decal application so that when the edges of the decals are trimmed it looks clean. I suppose some people might trim off a bit too much and leave an obvious edge exposure.

I don't see any red trim BSD's on HEP's floor.

I mean it almost looks like the cabinet is splitting a little, but it doesn't look too bad. Got to remember this game is a 90's game so it's getting old.

Yeah that's what I've done in the past too when redecaling cabinets.

#5625 5 years ago

yeah, i can see the "trimming a little short" method being reasonable. definitely safer/easier, right? my decaled TRON has some exposed cabinet at the edges, courtesy of stern. running it the whole way to the edge does look nicer, however.

Although we don't agree on the repugnant color choice for your BSD cabinet trim , I completely agree with you about this sound mix. After listening to it for about 2 weeks, I decided to purchase the Pinsound board. The sound and voice clips are off the chart. Plan on installing asap.

Speaking of decals...has anyone purchased these from eBay ? Wondering about the quality.

Oh your game, that's a nice example. Without meddling in the buyer's decision making here, that is a solid machine there and you can definitely buy with confidence from @mtbpinball. I recall that being an original cab. Still got the blood red lettering too, just like I'd want it when I'm ready for one.

Color DMD... LCD or LED for Dracula?

#5644 5 years ago

Color DMD... LCD or LED for Dracula?

LED

#5645 5 years ago

Agreed. LED looks the best in Dracula IMO. I thought it would be the same for my Dredd, but I wish I went LCD on that one. Generally I prefer the LCD, but BSD really works well with LED and looks odd to me with the LCD high-res setting.

#5646 5 years ago

LCD ! Case closed!

#5647 5 years ago

i'd think you always lcd; more options.

#5648 5 years ago

Hi all,
I picked up a massive project BSD and after looking into a playfield, which I will probably end up getting I though, you know what, what is the worst I can do... I mean probably terribly, but I am going to go for, the first thing I need is some 1 to 1 scans of the two large inserts but also if possible the ones on the cross and above the flippers and the DRACULA ones too, I AM going to give this a go, a best friend of mine is a graphic designer and said he will get them down to printouts I need. Hey - why the heck not, this is what pinball is about.

Appreciated if you can help.

Cheers,
James

#5649 5 years ago

holy moly.

#5650 5 years ago

Indeed, but it can be fixed - it is just the inserts and with good scans can be recreated with imaging software easily, just need those scans as I cannot work from this.
