Quoted from Axl:

Yeah... I have been a bit crazy buying all the deals i have been offered, just can’t say no.
I seriously need to trim it down. games can’t be played in storage, better that someone else gets to play them.

I'm ready for a great deal on one of them

#5502 5 years ago

Honestly, I think full flippers made the game more fun. Punishing is cool and all, but if you just want to have a little fun, do it.

Several users asked me about a custom "Crew" card, here is:

"Bram Stoker´s Dracula Custom Pinball Card - Crew" (WILLIAMS). Designed by Zona Arcade & Mikonos.

Quoted from Axl:

I am thinking about changing the flippers to normal ones to try it out before it leaves the house. What is the judgement of those who have done it?

Change the flippers and don’t move it. I have the blood red flippers from PBL on mine. I don’t care what anybody says, the game is still hard as hell and fast as shit even without the lightning flips. Plus changing the flips takes about 10 minutes, so throw them in the coinbox. Easy to change back if you don’t like it.

#5505 5 years ago

Scroll down to the 'Trivia' section towards the bottom of the following web page. According to this web page BSD shipped with the yellow lightning flippers, however BSD was designed to use the regular sized flippers. When BSD production games were shipped they shipped with the yellow lightning flippers in an effort to shorten ball times.

...aaand the lightning flipper 'gimmick' was short lived, very few BW titles shipped with them, and apparently they broke a lot to boot.

#5507 5 years ago

I have an original set of lightening flippers in the coin box..changed them out for regular blood red flips like the pin was intended for.

#5508 5 years ago

can anyone tell what kind are in the flyer pics? those might be lightnings. that's usually what i base my games off of. BSD flyer shows the proto sling plastics, and red condoms on the lights above the coffin, too.

#5509 5 years ago

I put a colour DMD in mine and a Pinsound card with a really good mix from Hazzard.
It makes this pin creepier with music a :lol:nd quotes from the movie.
I love this pin even more now.

It’s hard to tell, but I think it’s lightning flippers in the flyer. My right flip was a little misaligned in this photo, but definitely a slightly larger gap in the flyer.

i wonder how hard it is to make a sound mix on pinsound...

And of course another pic thrown in of that gorgeous red trim!

Well, its not that hard, but it takes a looong time.

I am thinking around 40 hours of work, if you want to replace all of the original sounds.

VERY excited to be in this club! One came up unexpectedly and quite locally.

She plays nicely enough, but I'm gonna see that she gets some TLC, and really entertains grown-ups and terrifies small children.

Question for the assembled wisdom: My game has lightning flippers, and without getting into the merits, can I use a regular flipper rubber, or is the size difference great enough that it needs a smaller size?

Thanks!

Congrats on the pick-up! Yes regular sized flipper rubbers work on Lightning Flips

Just stay away from some of the members like @neverahighscore.

What kind of music do you have in your BSD remix?

#5519 5 years ago
Quoted from Colsond3:

I am using different parts of the original movie score for the most part, edited for pase. One track is from the later Dracula Untold movie.

And I'm working on a remake/re-orchestration/cover of the original tracks by Paul Heitch also.. I really love them. Plan to have it as a separate mix option. It's so cool that you can have several mixes and switch between them easily

vn. i saw one before a few months ago, but it had some dead spots. not sure if that was you and you improved on it or if it was someone else.

#5523 5 years ago

one more reason i need another BSD.

didn't really need one though...

#5525 5 years ago

I've been thinking of getting a ColorDMD for this BSD but the added price of getting a clear speaker panel makes we hesitate. At $400 whats another pound to an elephant right? Any one have one yet?

Oh yeah! Looks fantastic. I recommend the LCD version

#5527 5 years ago

Made this with some matte red chrome vinyl on my Silhouette Cameo.

Yes - I bought the LED. And a replacement bezel with a clear window so you can see the colours. So total cost was a lot....

Given your collection, I'm amazed $400 is a make or break situation here.

Order one and tell yourself in a mirror "Don't hesitate again."

#5531 5 years ago

I got some custom panels made clear window and red lettering and blood drips. about $75 aud.

The red lettering glows low red and flashes bright red when triggered. Looks awesome!

Did you run a single switch test?

No! but I will first thing in morning, still learning how to trouble shoot.
I feel kinda stupid asking these questions.

It’s no problem. Pinball raises plenty of q’s, and there’s a lot of helpful people on here. Unfortunately, I’m not one of them. JK. Anybody that owns a BSD is OK in my book.

Do you have a credit dot or hear 4 annoying tones when you boot the game up? Any type of error message? If you do, hit enter (4th Black mode button to the far right inside the coin door). That will tell you what is wrong, or at least where the problem is emanating from.

If you don’t have a credit dot, hit the 4th mode button, then the 3rd, then Enter (4th again). In the main menu, select “Tests”. From there you can test the switch edges, or go into to a single switch test. I think the left drop is 16 or maybe 19. I’m not in front of my game.

I reckon around 120-140 aus shipped. depending on postal service and time options etc. So about 90-100USD I guess.
Shoot me a pm if you want one. I need to get qty 5 for that pricing from my guy.

I've also done a custom Getaway and T2 chrome edition one and working on Theatre of magic design now.

Definitely. This is not an easy game to get 2 to 3 billion on.

well damn! you sure know what you are talking about. Impressive! the left drop switch is #15.
when I check single switches I get what looks like a lowercase t, or a plus sign. and it says open.
now of course I don't know what that means.I don't know what a coin dot is. no weird beeps when booting up.

#5546 5 years ago

OK! nevermind about the lowercase t they all look like that. DUOH!

A credit dot is a tiny period to the right of the Y when the words free play comes up. You would get the error message if there was an issue.

Lift up the playfield and check the switch. It’s probably just sticky, or there is an issue with the contacts.

ok! I cleaned the switch with isopropyl alcohol it doesn't seem to be sticking, however I noticed a thin strip of metal that just dangles loosely. looks like a leaf switch. if I shake the table a little it causes the drop target to malfunction. my question is
is that strip of metal supposed to be so loose?
