Quoted from PhillyBilly:

Having inconsistent ball launches again. Seems to rattle when it drops downs from the launch trail right at the video lights. Also its doesn’t happen often but it’ll drain my multiballs and I’m back down to one ball and end my game. Any thoughts?

An issue with the mist optos or opto board can potentially be a cause for ending multiball early, or an issue with the ball trough (not sure if this comes up at times with the castle lock opto or not as well). Do you ever have issue with the mist function? You may be able to test it by turning the mist/magnet feature off and see if it stops having that issue, or do a switch test for the trough.

Also, if the game ever spits out two balls without multiball, the arm sometimes needs to be adjusted for the shooter lane VUK.

On my game, it was the left/receiver opto that went bad and ended multiballs early (and did so gradually/intermittently for a long time before completely failing).

Quoted from Haggy38:

Hi,
It was some cables close to the magnet, check continuity on all of them, test magnet to be sure its working. Its the motor working ? Use a power supply to check it. Start with the the simple things, loose cables, fuses etc

Ok, installed new magnet and checked continuity of wires. All good but still no power.... The motor is working, magnet runs back and forth and the light works.

Hi guys - since IPDB site is currently facing a few glitchs, can anyone kindly share a pdf copy of the manual? Just PM, please, I'll be really thankful.

Quoted from Kas24:

How did you get magnet to pass with no errors? I keep getting a "power error". I replaced both optos and 24 opto board with no change. When the gate opens the ball drops down the magnet doesn't work. Even in test mode I get a "power error". Any help would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like either a main power driver board (PDB) or high current driver assembly (HCDA) issue. On the driver board, J107-1 powers both the magnet (not the motor, but the hold of the magnet) and the drop target. For the magnet, it attaches to the HCDA at J1-6. The driving transistor would Q22 through J1-4 on the HCDA to connector J122-3 on the PDB and ultimately Q22.

The HCDA also has a ground at J1-1 that attaches to the PDB at J103-1.

Is the drop target working? This will slightly narrow down where few need to look.

Quoted from Kas24:

Ok, installed new magnet and checked continuity of wires. All good but still no power.... The motor is working, magnet runs back and forth and the light works.

See above. Motor runs on a different circuit and is powered by J107-6.

Does anyone know who made this MOD for the BSD "Love Never Dies" letters on the speaker panel? It says BUTCH on the pcb.

Never seen that one. I had a similar mod that I posted in here earlier. Simpler and DIY.

Thanks for posting that. I saw shortly after I placed my original post that the only addition was an LED controller and colored LED strip similar to what you referenced. The board is the stock board, lol. The good thing is that I don't have to buy some expensive MOD now! Thx!

Which size rivets are proper for replacement ramp flaps in BSD if I am to use the pinrestore style rivet press?

Thanks in advance

Best,
Brian

If any lurkers out there are interested in joining the club, I'd like to trade mine plus cash for a Metallica or Spiderman. My game is in players condition with some upgrades and I'm hoping to find something similar. Upgrades include: LEDs, coffin, wolf, scoop lighting, backbox lighting, and under cabinet lighting. I also have all of the original parts if you want things switched back to stock. Willing to add $1,000 to $1,500. Send me a PM if you are interested. I'm located in the Tri-State area of WI, IL, and IA.

Anyone want to sell their original coffin plastic? Mine was badly melted due to locked on flashers (now fixed) and I'm looking for a replacement.

PM me if you have one, thanks.

#5181 5 years ago

Finished a few restores and now time to relax with some tweaking.
I'v been doing some custom speaker panels for my pins. Getaway, Tom, and now BSD. Tom, Cftbl TZ and Flinstones still in planning stages.

More blood was needed!

I'm going to make a custom baffle for the flashers and the lettering as well and hopefully some of the blood drips.

I want to do my own coffin idea as well...different to all the others around. Hopefully start on it soon.

Big shout out to a guy called hazzard and his pinsound mix - great job mate.

Thanks for all the ideas in this thread been great as well.

This is my second bsd because......Love never dies!!

What do I need to get to do that to my game?

For starters, buy a color DMD.

#5189 5 years ago

Ha yes a colour dmd is a must!

The panel you need my custom one I did or you could use a standard ( but the lettering or blood wont look as good) , 12v Colour changing strip with remote allow 2m length to cut up and modify. then some basic hardware and connectors. Also I have speakers mounted off the panel upgraded to 5.25" each size.
Total cost in parts was about $150 aud not including speakers and dmd of course. Took me about 5 hours to build.

#5191 5 years ago

For a grand!

Seriously confused how they can charge the same price as the 2 piece BK2K. Surely that playfield is more expensive to make and ship.

Help!! Manual is useless

Tore down my BSD for a shop job, and while removing the coffin, this metal bracket fell out from somewhere between the lamp assembly the coffin plate (I think). Where does it go, and more importantly, what is its orientation?

Thanks!
