Master...you promised me eternal life!

#3 11 years ago

You are but mortal, after all!

Looking for a set of promo slingshots if anyone has them for sale. Love my BSD.

#4 11 years ago

Alright an owners club I can get in to!

#5 11 years ago

Score! An exclusive club to join...I like those black flippers.

Have most of you guys put regular length bats on BSD?

#6 11 years ago

Putting red lightning flippers on mine soon

#7 11 years ago

OK, so you are the dudes to ask. I just picked up a nice but not fully functioning BSD a couple weeks back and I need some help with the mist multiball. When the machine starts up should it load a ball into the caged area on the right-hand side? After adjusting the gate mine does, but then a few minutes later (even during a game) the cage opens and releases the ball onto the playfield. Is any of this behavior normal? Is the ball supposed to sit there until mist is started?

#8 11 years ago

I have yet to play this machine...but I VANT to!

#9 11 years ago

Yes the ball sits on the right side. The optos that go across the playfield need to be checked. Make sure that the gate is not interfering with the beam. Good luck, great pin.

Yes, machine will launch ball into that area to stage for mist multiball. It should sit there until mist multiball starts. Is there something in particular that you've noticed that allows the cage to open? Perhaps one particular switch triggers the gate on accident, and you have a matrix issue?

Awesome, thanks! I think you're on to something - I'll look into it some more tonight and report back.

I've been looking for lightnings but they are hard to find. I bought these black ones, both broke right off their shaft within two games. So for now, running regular flippers. I saw somewhere red lightnings with someone saying they had them in for two months now without issue

#13 11 years ago

Finally a "members only" thread I can join. Geez those elitist T2 and SS owners were so annoying!

Shopping my BSD right now. It's in pieces in my shop, though playfield has just received a Treasure Cove and Maguires Perfect-It II polishing and is looking fine. Will post pics later when I get home.

Strategy from RGP:

Prerequisite:
If you haven't mastered bounce passes, stop shots (dead catches),
don't bother playing Dracula. You'll just get incredibly
frustrated.

Here's what I believe is the optimal strategy for Dracula.
0. NEVER attempt to hit the castle lock targets unless it's
during the time you start a multiball and the ball saver is on.
1. Hit the right ramp 5 times to ligh coffin lock, and then pass the
ball to the right flipper.Do not start locking balls, because
it's risky. anytime the ball is sent into the pop bumpers,
it's like Russian Roulette. The reason we LIght the lock
first is so that 12 Left Ramps will award a castle lock lit
instead of advancing Coffin by one measly ramp! This little
trick is a MAJOR factor in getting castle locks safely!
2. Start hitting the Left ramp. This is the bread and butter shot
of the game. Ultimate Glory awaits those who can hit this
shot anytime. At 3 ramps, it will start Bats. DO NOT
even bother trying to hit switches to maximize Bats. Just
Keep hitting the left ramp.
3. At 5 left ramps, mist is lit. If your castle lock targets are
close to being lit (i.e. one center hit away to light castle
lock), then hit the left ramp to light caslte
lock from the award at 6, and then once more to collect the
lock. Now start mist multiball. While the ball saver is
on, hit the center target to light another castle lock!
4. During Mist, collect 1 or 2 coffin locks if the oppurtunity
presents itself. I prefer to trap one ball on the left fliper,
and loop the left ramp with the other. The idea is to get
all three multiballs going.
5. Ok, now you're in the state where just about every multiball is
ready to get started. You should go for Mist first if
possible, since if you start mist during another multi, the
balls flying around keep you from getting a clean shot.
Second priority is Castle multi, because you can lock
up to two balls in the left ramp to get them off the
playfield for about 20 seconds. Keeping the playfield
clear will allow you to make unobstructed shots. So in
our preferred order, we start mist, get the third castle
lock from the targets during ball saver, start castle
multi, then go for a coffin shot or the sinkhole to collect
the jackpot, which ever is a safer shot. Never get greedy
and try to start the coffin right away. Collect a couple of
castle jackpots a couple of times if you don't get a good
clean collected shot at the coffin. Don't force up a bad
shot. Dracula is the most unforgiving game every made.
you can't afford to take a risky shot on the fly. Only
take controlled shots off a dead catch or a bounce pass.
6. All three multis are started: Go for Coffin or Castle?
Preferably Castle, since you can lock two balls up there
and clear the playfield for a clean shot at the jackpot.
But again, don't force a shot. If you have a clean shot
on the left flipper, take a shot at the coffin. But if you
are given the choice, Let the ball bounce pass to the
right flipper or do a dead catch from the right flipper
to take a shot at the left ramp or sink hole.

My Dracula can beat up your T2 ... and don't get me started on what he's gonna do to that Elvira tart.

Interesting tidbit, I notice that this game doesn't have the game title printed below the coin door. Instead it has the "Love Never Dies" motto.

Proudly reporting in.

Mine is still in a million pieces right now, but once it's back together...
- Drano black mirror blades
- Herg's LED OCD lamp controller
- Playfield restoration by CaptainNeo
- Buckwerx headphone adapter
- Pinbits ramp flaps
- Mostly new plastics and plastic protectors
- Cliffy protectors (ball eject, inlane switches, Mystery hole, and Rats hole)
- Cliffy colored post sleeves
- Upgraded cab speaker and crossover (plus external sub connection)
- LEDs out the wazoo
- Xtreme Pinball custom acrylic topper
- GLM flipper boards
- Lightning flippers (have both red and black, depending on which rubber color plays best in the end)

I'm probably forgetting some things. I'm still sanding inside the cabinet, so I have a ways to go..

#27 11 years ago

And any thoughts on differences between SP ( sun process ) and LS ( lenc smith ) playfields?? LS are supposed to have less planking??

And differences in decals? Some seem completely flat but mine looked like screen printed. So presume there are differences??

#28 11 years ago

New BSD owner checking in, just got mine less than two weeks ago, still need a few small parts to come in to get it 100% functioning correctly but will play almost perfect most of the time. Looking for a decent used or NOS main ramp if anyone has an extra that they would be willing to sell. Also wondering where can we get good lightning flippers from only heard about the one that seem to break in a few games.

Dude. Is that Ron Jeremy in there?

#32 11 years ago

I have played this machine so much that I have noticed little things in the audio,

at the end of the game just before a match is given the sound is different like its drawn out

when you lock a castle ball you can just hear under the sound effects one of the vampire women asking for help "help me"

on the second castle lock I the other vampire woman says " I love you"

weird shit

#33 11 years ago

Happy Birthday to Bram Stoker himself, he was born on this date in 1847!

ironic?

You REALLY think the Terminator can't take on a mere vampire? Pisshaw!

#35 11 years ago

I know there is a cool, creepy melody/audio that will RARELY play at the end of the game. I'm not sure what triggers it (it's not in the audits/audio) It happened once when I got a grand champ score and once recently when my daughter was at the wheel with about 4 million as a total score (she's 3)

#36 11 years ago

Owner here. First machine I bought and I doubt it will ever leave. Fantastic game and it's been a great experience getting it really dialed in.

#37 11 years ago

Noteworthy BSD Easter Eggs:

1) If Drac appears on screen and crosses his eyes hit the launch button (shooter lane) to earn the "Fluffy The Vampire" bonus and see the DMD special display

2) When getting the ball into the asylum, press both flippers to slam Renfield into the bars.

Anyone know any others?

Thanks for the guide! That took some work to make. This pin is no easy shop job.

My BSD has :
Full Flipper Fidelity Sound Sys. Like BRs. Love the sound when you kill Drac.
Plastic protectors (A must due to the speed and the rarity of the plastics)
Cliffy Bats hole.
Blue moon conversion. Highly recommend changing to blue pop caps and blue LEDs. Compliments the colors on playfield.
Mylar the ball drop on right orbit.

Tip: Learn the Mist test. Clean the optos with Q tip and cleaner.

We don't cry, more of a wince. Not sure how it gives you better gameplay unless you mean it makes it easier.
