I could and might make one of these. Or something like it. Very cool project. It could be easily made for under $100
for what it is, definitely appreciable and wouldnt be too tough to build similarly. more could be done with the concept: some flipper bands, maybe rubberband slingshots, outer orbit for a drop in skillshot from the plunger. I like the simple 2 player pegboard scoring for it.
I'd also like to see where 'Pinballman' ended up with this project idea, dont know if he ever got everything connected working and playable, pretty creative for scoring and sounds without anything electricity.
I really liked the size and game of the boxwood but the price is outrageous for what it is. Given it is a very limited run and hand art work, which is probably why the cost is high. That kind of game imo, would be great to bring to family gatherings, or have kids try, camping etc.
Bill Manke has about 4 different designs he produces. I've got the new proto in my kitchen, it has some interesting shots that have to be planned from plunging ball one and the stacking with the rare earth magnets are well done. You can see deck progress here:

Both him and his wife Sara are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Try it, you may like it!
That's one of my favorite aspects of this game. It's a social thing. Kind of like playing pinball with friends.
