Hello,
I have a Bow and Arrow and the bonus hole eject keeps firing when the bonus count goes over 10. Bonus Hole Score relay stays locked on. Seems to function as it should under 10 bonus counts.
I started disassembling the bonus unit and it appears someone has used a Wizard ratchet/gear in the bonus unit, someone has written wizard on the back of it.
I looked in the parts catalogue and it appears the part numbers for the bonus unit ratchet/gear are different for Wizard then what's listed for Bow and Arrow.
Do I need the correct ratchet/gear or will the same era ratchet work??? Can someone please help ??? thanks in advance

The Bonus Hole Eject solenoid only has a circuit through the Bonus Hole Score relay so I'm going to assume that relay is firing when this happens, but I need you to check on that.

The most likely ways the Bonus Hole Score relay can be activated are: (1) Through a switch on the 5000 Bonus Hole relay, or (2) The Bonus Hole switch.

Are both the Bonus Hole Score relay and the 5000 Bonus Hole relay activating when this happens?

Also check score motor cam 10 switch B normally closed switch in the 5000 bonus hole relay hold circuit. Watch operation of cam switch if it releases the relay properly. A normally open switch on the relay is also part of the hold circuit

Note: Make sure the relays involved have the paper thin brass washer installed,
------ to keep the relays from constantly self energizing.

Hello, this is a follow up to the bonus issue. I was able to figure out that a Wizard bonus ratchet goes to twenty and the Bow and Arrow only counts to ten.
I used a dremel and carefully notched the teeth of the ratchet gear so it would flat spot at ten on the bonus count. I then marked drilled and inserted a pin so it would correctly activate the max bonus switch. Thank you for all the suggestions that were based on having the correct ratchet gear in place. Obviously someone thought a Bally is a Bally so lets swap it without doing a small amount of research.
I have one gremlin left in the machine. Giving the bonus unit hack that was done I'm concerned that this gremlin may be the result of another hack. I cannot find a schematic of the player up unit so I can see if it's correct. Any pics of a Bow and Arrow player unit would be greatly appreciated so I can compare it to the one in the unit.
Here it is: when the 1st player score reels are on 20k+, 30k+, 50k+, 60k+, 70k+ or 90k+ the 4th player will give a credit with every 1000 points scored when the 4th player score reels reach the same increment range 20k+, 30k+, 50k+ and so on. It racks up credits with or without the over 100k relays activated, I've tried switching the extra ball and credit bonus plug no change, I've tried 3 ball and 5 ball no change. 2nd player and 3rd player reels do not seem to be part the issue. Would there be anything outside the backbox that might cause this issue?
Please help me exterminate this last gremlin.
