How can this possibly be?

The Star Trek Pro I bought a year ago has always had a weird thing with the Start Button, where it would occasionally stop working until I open the coin door and fiddle with the wire bundle going to the door. Then it will work for a while, then stop again.

Tried searching for anyone else having this problem, to no avail. Oh well, been living with it.

So, I just brought home a TWD Premium, and damned if it doesn't have the same problem!

Sometimes when it quits working, I can even hold the Start Button in and just press on the coin door and it will work!

Does anyone have any ideas? Still can't believe it's apparently a rare problem and I have it twice!

Any connectors involved nearby ? Unplug and plug back in tight.

If IDC wiring, be sure the wires are shoved in tight.

Yes my GoT LE is like that but...... I've pushed that button 1000's of times so I expect nothing less.

If someone has added an LED when factory was an incandescent, that can cause clearance issues.

Otherwise, just get new ones. They aren't that expensive and they're kinda important.
