Been rumored for sooooooo long that it is Avengers, it will be a major shock if it isn't Avengers, despite all the X-Men hints.

Avengers may be on the drawing board but it isn't next.

I was in for Avengers, Ill pass on X-men.

It will be Avengers. X-Men doesn't make any sense from a timing standpoint. The X-Men hoopla is just there to throw everyone off. I would also be much more interested in Avengers than X-Men, though I'm not really sure I would be down for NIB on either one. Maybe after I see the Avengers movie I'll change my tune.

It is indeed comic based artwork like we have been asking for years.

Guess that means custom music, custom sfx, custom dots, custom everything? If its comic book based art I'm guessing no movie references so no material from movies will be present, seems like alot of work for stern.

They can afford it with all the money they'll save from not licensing the film. Could they finally have realised that spending money on the game and not the license is the way to go???

I'm sure Marvel's pound of flesh will be a lot less than if they had to deal with 2-3 licenses.

Hand drawn art and a comic based theme, looks like Stern is making some changes. Can't wait to see how X-Men tuns out!

If comic based why not Xmen vs Avengers? The new series just started and every 10yr old trapped in a 40 yr olds body will be drooling. Or your next release Avengers and they can be hooked to eachother like NBAFB. That would be cool.

Just pro and LE from what I have been told but..... there will be 2 different LEs.

Oh, crap. More choices. Hope that TF LE pricing comment from mnpinball is accurate. I know all of the uber geeks want real comic artists to do this, but I think Youssi would be perfect for the job. If there are custom dots, I'm sure Galvez will do a great job, as well. He has really stepped up the dots in the last couple of titles.

It's kind of funny. This title has gone from Avengers to Resident Evil to MIB to GIJoe to X-Men. WTF.

LE pricing between Transformers LE and AC/DC LE. So around $6k I'm told. I assume that's pre-order price and NOT sug retail.

In my view that is an indicator that Stern is throwing out false leads or people are just guessing.

I would think a bit of both.
X-Men and Avengers seem to be the front runners. Most people "in the know" keep pointing to X-Men. I also think a non Hollywood X-Men pin would be a very smart move by Stern.

Hmm no unlimited production premium model, maybe to make people jump on site unseen in the panic they might miss out? Think I'll still wait, I'm probably in the minority but I'm not totally sold on original comic book styling stern have been geared up for years simply using movie resources now they are gonna do everything custom, gotto see this first before I pull trigger.

Pro pricing should be the same as all the others in the low-mid $4K. LEs should be in the low-mid $6K range. Of course this is probably pre-order pricing from your distributers.

As of now I don't know about the dots and if they are going to be pulled from movies or all custom or a mixture of both.
I do know that there will be no movie based sound/audio. All the audio is 100% custom from David Thiel.

And yes, I said the same think. Oh crap, more choices. My guess, and it is just a guess, is they will do something like TFs Designer EDs for the LE choices again.

I honestly hope the LE's are cheaper than that or I'd rather have a premium option, but we'll wait and see. If they were able to offer TFLE with a shaker for less than ACDC premium (which lacks a shaker), I think they can get the cost down on this one. Here's hoping.

Avengers may have been the smoke-screen... who knows?

Or a backup plan. It's likely that Disney is pulling the strings on the next Marvel title.

Or...it may be after X-Men.

It's not like it is uncommon for Stern to come out with the pin months after the movie's initial release date.

Oh well Im in the minority but I'm not currently hyped for a non movie based pin from stern it leaves way to much freedom for them to take short cuts and screw things up. Hopefully avengers is movie based but I PRAY and hope Gomez does not design it, after TFLE I don't think he could design an avengers pin worthy of the license.

Gomez already hinted towards Avengers. Too bad he shoots himself in the foot with empty promises. I'm sure he will do it again at Expo.
I know a lot of people feel exactly like you do and I'm sure people will be thinking twice about ordering another Gomez pin before playing it.
I for one still enjoy playing my TFs LE. I think it is a great pin.

He just needs to learn the #1 secret to happy customers. Under promise and over deliver. TFLE is a great game…just not what was promised and thats the issue.
Lets hope for not much info this time and a great game ; )

I have no problem with GG designing the Avengers. Love my TFLE, and almost any other game he designed.

Im with Jackal on it being Xmen. Also I watched the avengers today and if they do an avengers pin the music is the same as IM. I wish they were making The " Amazing Spiderman " being it release will be next month.

Preorders aren't really necessary, but they are generally 4200-4300.

I know what you mean I like playing Batman Forever as much or more than BMDK. Dark Knight looks better though I just get tired of the crane. Of course a new Batman is coming out too.

Movies have had success recreating comics and Stern has had success using the theme.

I like the use of the crane on LAH better than on BDK.

Why would you bet with someone that has a track record of knowing what the inner-workings of Stern are, well before everyone else? If Akuma and mnpinball say it is X-Men, it's X-Men.

If these guys are so close to Stern then i would think that leaking info before its officialy announced would get them into some bother. For that reason, i think what they say is a 'smokescreen' hence my willingness to bet on the machine being Avengers. Nothing sinister about it, just fun.

There are a few people across the country that get info and chat among themselves about this stuff. You never know who talks to certain people.
