I've been on this for a month and I surrender !!! I've gotten good at finding these too . But not this one

Checked j20 and 208 on the cpu (per pin wiki) and all checked out

All of column 5 is firing at the same time , and all of row 6 is dead ..

I've removed all diodes one by one on the column but to no aval..

Thanks for the responses ! Yes , I have ran the rest on the cpu testing grounded pin and have confirmed it was good ..

The cpu is brand new on this machine .. No battery leakage

Playfield , every this was workin fine until i changed out some pop bumper parts ..

And a couple light bulbs , which I left the machine on because one of the bulbs sockets was not seating ..

I was thinking bad diode ? But in 6 years I've never seen a bad switch diode ..

so If the CPU checked out good , where do I start? do I need to check all 56 switches?

is there anyway to check a shotty switch without de welding ?

is there anyway to check a diode without removing diode ?

any good starting points on the playfield , pop bumpers seem like a good place , but I've removed wires to those .. not it ..

does the problem have to be in the dead row or ground shorted column ?

it was the socketed chip !!! pulled one off another board and bam , worked like a charm ... I hadn't used a diode on the gator clip before and that caused a false reading i believe ..

thanks

no if i can only get here to sing before multi ball ;(
