This thread is to document a BoP Resto that is not for sale. I do have access to another machine and am on the list for another Brunner pf, so if interested in purchasing a similar machine, just PM me.
Here is the starting point. A reimport, decent shape, been in storage for about 15 yrs.

Previous owner attempted mylar removal, and ran into trouble.

Won't be a problem, as new Buthamburg pf is going in.
    Beautiful.

Underside of pf and lower cabinet fairly clean.

Lower cabinet stripped, decals from PPS on the way. Going to do a slight custom (inside cabinet) color scheme.

Oh wow!!! Looks great! I just left the house where this machine will be headed. I can't wait to see it.

    #8 3 years ago

Started in on the lower cabinet.
I wish all decals came off like this. I set it in the sun for an hour or so, hosed it down with aerosol paint remover, waited a few minutes, and just peeled this side off.
    Other side, not so easy..

A little xylene applied with a disposable brush and scrape with razor blade to remove the old decal adhesive.

Following! Going to be an awesome restore. That PF is GORGEOUS.

    #12 3 years ago

Cabinet sanded, cleaned. Applying some Bondo, sanding, getting ready for primer.

    Where did you purchase these?

    #16 3 years ago

Earlier I said PPS, but once they got here, I realized it was Bay Area Amusements. I shopped around, and they had the best price for licensed decals.

    Don't worry...

Your moving along quickly! Why not paint the entire inside of the cabinet black?

I could, but that seems a bit too easy. I like the contrast of a bit of custom work. Let me know what you think once things are in place.

Harness cleaned and installed (with wiring for new Brightmods flipper buttons), new power cord, shooter assby, polished up prop rod.

A word of caution when you get your new pf. I got mine a year ago and it was perfectly smooth, a thing of beauty. Well I just pulled it out of the box to look at it and to my horror I saw that the clear on almost every insert had sunken around their edges, some a little some a lot. I'm REALLY bummed. My Stern Star Trek, Mustang, Met, Avatar and GB are still perfect, no sunken clear on the edges of any inserts. And people say Stern quality sucks. But I will agree in some cases yes. The problem is real hard to photograph but here's just a few pictures.

Yup. Looks like you've done it before.

Thumb locks are the best. No need to lose keys! I have them on all my games.

Same here, but I don't have any kids either.

Pf harness moved to new pf. Flippers got new bushings, switches, stops, sleeves, links, and bats. They will feel like new.
Put LEDs in all light boards.

Did you put white clear dome in the inserts? They make the inserts sparkle like a new Stern game.

    #42 3 years ago

Wow this is EPIC!! I cant wait to play it

    #43 3 years ago

Went to mount the legs today, and realized I was out of the Stern style cabinet protectors. I made these from a piece of mild steel angle. Should do the trick.

Got her up on all fours today...

Since your cabinet is wide open you should put the HD leg braces on. A nice plus to them is that they have about 6 threads for the bolts to screw to instead of 3 for the stock ones.

While its great have your bride on all fours ... I still think you should paint the entire inner cabinet black.

    #48 3 years ago

I hear ya. I left that softball up there to see who would take a swing..
All black lower cabinet shows a lot of dust, spiderwebs, etc. Nothing wrong with a little color.
    Thx for feedback.

Current state. New pops, new ramps.
Cleaning the face cube, I'll put that in tomorrow.

There's a big hole in the pf behind the left ramp just waiting to have a 7 led strip or something run through it to light it up back there.
