I purchased replacement cubes and wanted to hear from others in their opinion. They are truely gorgeous but....the mouth and eye holes are too big which means the balls will not sit correctly. This is more evident on the second face. I'm thinking of mounting the factory metal bracket for the first two faces. Then I thought....why should I have to modify a brand new part? Such a shame as these would be beautiful with 2.0 on the way and hopefully playfields soon to follow. Would love to see pics from other users.

Quoted from 85vett:

Have you installed them? Did the balls fall through? Trying to figure out what you mean by not sit right. The ball will sit a bit lower but that's not a problem.

I installed the first two faces and tested from there. The balls did not fall though but with the holes being larger/not beveled and not using the factory underside metal bracket, you get a google eyed bride. I'll see if I can post some pics.

theres some pics of the new faces without the oem underside metal bracket. since then ive glued the bracket to the replacements and has solved the concern. i just dont know why cpr didnt mount them with the new design. thinking they could have mounted them with the same cement that they used for the ball guides. this would still give the product a screw free look.

Quoted from 85vett:

Wow... that is bad. I'm surprised as CPR stuff is normally awesome. Those holes are WAY to big. Makes you wonder if it's a bad batch since I don't recall any concerns before and if I recall right these had been out of stock for a while. You talk with CPR?

Yes I have. Cpr stated that the balls sit just slightly different and is subjective to opinion. I think the pics tell a different story. Since the install with the add on of the backing plate, I've had to adjust the left eye switch as the ball sits slightly off center but way better than without. Would really like to hear from other users of this product. On a positive note....they have a beautiful wet look and the colors are rich and bold compared to the stock units. They are a nice addition with the cpr plastics and back glass. Hoping to add a repro playfield to that list!
