Hi guys

Nest week I pick up a BOP. It hasn't been playing for years meaning the condition is very nice. I got caught by the thought upgrading to 2.0.

It seems the conversion kits are not sold anymore, so I guess the road ahead is to scrape the parts together myself. I have a PRoc board and LCD screen at hand, but especially the software seems to be tough to obtain, since I understand it it connected to a serial number?

I emailed dutch Pinball, but rumour is that they are very hard to reach.

Any suggestions where to go from here? And other key elements, hard to get, I need to focus on?

I am sorry if my questions are obvious for some of you, but I am a mechanics man - electronics is not my field.

Quoted from mgpasman:

I contemplated going that route three years ago, just before they announced the third run. I believe bootlegging it yourself will not be a big problem, you need a computer running Windows 7, a PROC and a 15" LCD screen. And indeed a copy of the software. DP will not be supporting this, as there will be a licensing issue.
There is one small piece of custom hardware (that probably you can do without) that sends a pulse to the PC to turn it on when it gets 5V from the pin, and another pulse to turn it of when it loses 5V - this is to gracefully exit Windows.
See if you can get a dump from the original hard drive and try to get it to work on your desk first.
I might at some point try something similar, as I am contemplating upgrading the hardware to a nice Intel NUC i5.

Thank you for your input. I got a reply from Barry Driessen. He will se if they still have a minicomputer and if so they can install the software on that. That would be a step forward. So I am crossing fingers here... Good to know about the hardware to turn PC on ond off by getting a pulse.
