I have been lurking around the forum for a few years but never had much of anything to say. I am now proud to announce something I am very passionate about. At the 2017 Free Play Florida show in Orlando during November 17-19th this year, I will have an expanded area to display my prewar collection. These machines will be set on Free Play and available to play ALL Weekend. At the 2015 show, I displayed 6 games and got some very good feedback and during the 2016 show, I had 14 games to play. Many people ask me to please bring the games back, so this year I am pleased to announce that after some coordination with the organizers of Free Play Florida, there will be 28 to 32 prewar games in the newly expanded area for people to play. So all you prewar enthusiasts, mark your calendar for November 17-19, 2017 and visit Free Play Florida in Orlando.

Great work! Im trying to make it down.

    #3 1 year ago

Thanks Jeff. I still have a lot of work to do, but I am getting closer.
Hope to see you there. It is going to be a great time.

That's a lot to say! Hopefully some pics show up on these.

I intend to be there to help Jeff out!

He is an inspiration to me with his passion on this era!

I am hoping to complete a couple games to add to this section....

Fleet is primed and ready, right?

    #6 1 year ago

I'd love to see pics too! You don't by any chance have a pace king pin do you .. as you may have seen from other posts here I am trying to restore one of those

    Regards Ron

    #7 1 year ago

    Hi Ron!

Had to look that one up!

Ive never seen that game...neat graphics!

I personally dont, I hope to bring a Peo All American Football or a Rockola Big Bank Night, and a Baffle Ball.

Im amazed at the History of Pinball from 1932-1935, where I once specialized in.

A modest wood box, with some cast metal and paint, was making money for operators!
Mostly all as a gambling machine with rewards.
But it took off exponentially....so many games came out during the first 24 months!

Freeplay Orlando has a great section of old pins to play, thanks to jmsvero!
(I hope we can encourage more!)

IAPPA happens as well, and hope more Pinsiders will join us at a Great Show in Orlando!

    So - LED's or no?

All joking aside thanks for bringing these! I love this area of FPF and am excited to get a larger chance to check them out!!

    #9 1 year ago

Oh, some might expect otherwise...but I pulled LEDs out from an EM this weekend....!

Somehow, I cant see an LED in a 30's game!

Presqueisle, I will add some pics this evening.
Oldpinguy (Art) Thanks, I will need some help. Let me know if you want to bring a few prewars. I have the area layed out but can move a few things around. And yes Fleet is ready, as a matter of fact I will have 2 at the show.
Manitouguy, I saw your posts on the machine. Very cool looking machine. I do not have one, but it very neat machine.
Clnilsen, Introduce yourself at Free Play, It will be good to meet some prewar buffs.

You better finish painting those cabinets and legs.

    #16 1 year ago

This is great! I love prewar games. Looking forward to seeing pics from the event - the pics of the games from last year are fantastic. What a selection.

I'm working on a Goofy right now.

    #17 1 year ago

Goofy is a fun game. It was one of the first three I bought. Got it in a bulk deal with a Baffle Ball and the Five Star Jr.

    #18 1 year ago

Here are few other games that will be there. Daisy, Sky Ride, Drop Kick, Mills Cannon Fire, Lightning, Playboy and Sensation of 1937

We are just under a month. 29 days to be exact until Free Play Florida in Orlando. The Prewar Playground will be ready to go.

    #24 1 year ago

Can't wait. Enjoyed last year. Best to get there early before the crowd.

    #25 1 year ago

These games are a highlight of the show for me and I'm stoked over the expanded line up. They are a lot of fun and each one is unique. I'm looking forward to playing each and every one of them.

    Thanks Jeff!

    #26 1 year ago

Glad you will have more time to play them this year John. It should be a great time.

Wish I could make it to FPF this year to check out the games but cant make it. But I thought you would like to check out my scores from an estate auction this week. The bagatelle not coin op of course but pretty happy with the JigSaw.

Sorry you can't make it to FPF. It should be a great time. I am hoping to be very busy in the booth with all the games.
Congrats on the Jigsaw. My Jigsaw needs a new cabinet. The cabinet is just a mess, no fixing it. I have all the other parts.
Let me know if you decide not to keep the Jigsaw.

Posting to be in the loop when show pics start to appear. The pics thus far are incredible. Wish I could be there. Kudos for putting this together, Jeff/jmsvero!

    #30 1 year ago

It should be a great time. I have 34 machines ready to go.
Just a reminder, only two weeks left until the show starts.
    See you all there.

There are 3 great things about the Orlando show. POTC, GOTG, and Jeff!

    #33 1 year ago

Are you going to be able to make it Jeff?
I am now starting to look for a little help in the prewar area.

Would love to be there but can't wait to see documentation photos here. Best of luck preparing for the big weekend!

Very cool show. I'm also eager to see pictures of what shows up.

Brought a 1934 Genco Subway to an Allentown show, way back when, and several people abused it. They would lift the game off the ground and slam it around. Brought more oldies since then, but only full size tables.

Don't mean to scare anyone that plans to bring an old game. I guess the Florida event went ok last year, not a rough crowd, or well supervised. Grouping the oldies seems like a good idea.

    #40 1 year ago

All loaded and headed to FPF tomorrow to set up. I will take pics before everyone gets there.

    #41 1 year ago

    Still unloading (recovering)?

    #42 1 year ago

Thank you Jeff! It was an Amazing Display!

Did you have any pics taken to share?

    #43 1 year ago

I have pics, will get later tonight. Can we upload video?

    #44 1 year ago

people in this thread, be sure not to miss the Army Navy over in the EM thread. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/em-show-us-your-em-pinball-machines/page/200#post-4079207

    #46 1 year ago

Had a ton of fun at the Pre-war playground! I'm pretty sure I played every game there. The amazing thing was that all were in playing condition. On Saturday night Steve Ritchie stopped by and played and talked about the games. He went right over to the Fleet Jr looked like a little kid while playing it.

Thanks for doing this Jeff. I think it was a big eye opener for a lot of people. These games are not just fun; each one is unique. Certainly there was no cookie cutter standard in these games!

    #47 1 year ago

Not sure if this is going to work. This was my first video and I now realize i should have turned the camera sideways while filming.

    #48 1 year ago

    Awesome collection Jeff.

    #49 1 year ago

Loved the video, and laughed at the photo with all the roses. Need something like this at one of the Pennsylvania shows.

    #50 1 year ago

I love the rose picture as well. My wife always asks where are my roses when I buy a new machine.
