I started this mod with a basic rerouted wireform to see the visual. I think I sorted out a way to have a leveled circle wireform around the rocket now. I see it in my head. I think it could really look badass with spectre symbol. All depends on the scale, a one way gate, minor jump point and alot of trial and error.

Forgive the crude outline of the idea in welding wire, but I am hoping you can see what I am shooting for.

I moved the ball lock gate switch back for clearance. I just need to make a bracket to improve the holding point.

I got a pm with good pictures. I dont think I can work around it. The angle of the wireform now off ramp exit generates good speed. I am going to need that speed for the jump point. If that changes I will take you up on that.

Wireform track return around rocket had issues with slow ball hang ups. So thats out. It will be pricey trying this next design as it will be a good amount of stainless plate. (96 cents an inch.)
I will be doing this today. Trying 2 sections. The first being from ramp exit to rocket. The base of it stainless plate from exit to around the rocket (Centered hole cuts) with wireforms as guides. I have made this combo with ramps and it works great.(see picture). I can pitch the base platform in a way where a dead ball will roll out of the exit path. And regular speed shots will shoot around the rocket and go out the exit path in front of the rocket over the drop targets. The second section will be standard wireform to return. I will add a top plate to look as drawn. The scaffolding might change, but going to try the cross support style and see. This should resolve the ball hang up issue.

Got the rings cut today. I was waiting on a part for plasma cutter. I like the size of them, now I just need to figure out the guides.

I can improve small points on this design, but it works! Shots loop around silo and drop to flipper return. If its a dead energy shot the ball will drop to return or to the rocket. I will cut a circuliar piece of mylar for that area next. I really like the game and look forward to more code improvements.
I cant sleep and its really late. I could do a roll test video. I will do a playtest video soon…

Thanks for the comments. This set was to see if it would work. I can rescale the ring and I want to do it with out stagger. This is also not sanded or polished. I will make a revised one and go from there. The stand ups are obscured by wireform catch, but I am not sure if I can do anything there? I got a really quick video with the loop!

This just hurts the wallet. Stainless is not cheap! I screwed up first cut. I am seeing if I can shrink the diameter by 1 cm.. (Canadian so forgive me). I hope it does or I just killed more plate.

I figured out a solution to intersection points. Ramp and drop from rail test video. Really dead balls fall to drop point as well.

It takes longer to build the wireform than the silo. It works well I need to make minor tweaks but heres some pictures and a play video.

Thr smaller ring attempt was well too small. The ball would get trapped between ring and rocket. So I will keep inner diameter from original and make it not staggered.

I want to have it be 2 pieces and I am working on that. I want the lower rail to be compatable with the wireform version or the stainless plate silo version. I want to offer both. And shipping costs for regular wireform boxes are typically $20 to east coast and $45 to west coast on average. If its one piece it would be higher due to box size.

I have to make adjustments to lower path and rocket mounting points. Also working on that. See pictures.

Costs:
Its $50 an hour labor plus material costs. I have to have it fully designed to have a number on labor.

The cost of wireform rods for this last version is $32.70. (Steel prices have gone up again).

I am redoing silo first. This is the non staggered version and the ball travel diameter is reduced by 1.5 mm. It rides on the edge. I think this will speed up the ball better. Work in progress. Once I have this done I will redo wireform and again my aim is to have a lower rail that attaches to both designs. I am hopefull that I can get that done. My eye loves the silo!

Tighter radius works. Ball exits by middle and right stand up. I am happy with the way this one is coming together. It is properly mounted to playfield at 3 points. I welded threaded studs on a arm that relocates the gate switch. Ran out of time, but took a quick video to see ball path. The silo is not cleaned up at all. This is just a funtion test before I try for return form that fits this and wireform design. Thats the next challenge.

Roughed out catching wireform that should work for both designs. Altered the route to drop as pointed out in other pics. You will need to remove the plastic post blocker. Very easy, but needed for rails path. Progress!

Love it! This version will be Bird One wireform mod. It plays great and I am very happy with the reduced size and affect on the ball. I need to make it again to get labor time. And the lower rail will work with both version as its a catch design rail.

Producing the rocket silos for $295 plus shipping. Ups has made it not viable to flat rate as its $20 to east coast on average and $45 to west coast. I would rather do exact shipping for cost issues. The break down is below. The all wireform set will cost more than the plated version and I am not sure its worth pursuing. I am trying to make a better jig for that version today but it adds $75 more in labor currently. I am trying to do better, but its more involved.

Killed 2 expensive hole saws as a jig with cut out slots for rings. I am hoping this limits the distortion from welding supports. I am trying to get this wireform version easier and more consistantly built. The circle rings are hard because of the tension on circles. Heat gets them to buckle and then I have to reshape. I hope this works.

I have lifting coil rods on two planes to transfer balls. This set up is very time consuming and needs to be dialed in and then welded together. I will finish this version tomorrow, but the price will be over $370 and I am not sure if there is enough interest in that price point for this version. I will post this one when finished and go from there. I am really stunned at the lack of interest so far?

Another try.. The forms are way better now with the jig holding in place. I just need to improve the staggered lifting rail. But, I think I can get there. And happy easter.

I tried a 3 rail ball path wireform design along with the jigs mentioned yesterday and I am very happy with the results. The ball is raised and it travels over points more easily as a result. To do this top section alone takes 6 hours. It takes a good amount of effort to make it correctly and to get to this result. That inculdes sanding, stoning, polishing and playtesting. I have to calculate the rods, but its $50 an hour labor rate. I can do it, but I know there is a price point that kills mods (atleast mine) and this will be right in that pocket. I just want to give a heads up to anyone interested in this design. Its labor intensive to do it.

Thanks for the comments. I have to make another wireform version to confirm labor time anyway. So, I might tweak it above the stand ups if I can clear up some of the space. There is not alot of interest in this mod, so making it a two piece set might also not be needed. I will get back on it Saturday and post everything once it is sorted out. The plated silo is done and does not need to be altered. But, the lower rail might depending on Saturdays progress. Thanks for the interest. Clearing up Connery is such a visual difference for us. The game looks really great opened up. The silo (either version) is also a benefit for us visually and making the ramp shot with power is very satisfying having it loop around the rocket. I am getting there.

I have had little to no interest in this mod. I am stunned, but once I complete the ones I have now I will be trading or selling the machine. Once I do that I cant make them going forward, so pm me if you are interested as they will only be made for a few weeks.
And if anyone has a hot wheels for trade or sale please let me know. I can make the vuk a 360 ramp and my son wants it.

I have spent all day on this upper rail and I still have to tweak it. I am getting hang ups. This does not include making the lower rail. I understand if people pass on the mod. I stay out of bond owners forum because its nothing but complaints. Its crazy how the game is getting treated. I am only going to offer the stainless plate version as there are no issues or tweaking required and its a better design for ball travel. I killed a full day on this part and it still requires more work. I appologize now, but its only going to be plated version only going forward for my own sanity.

I needed to stop working on it as yesterday sucked, so I did. I prefer the visual of the silo and its solid. Today I am making the plate base one piece to see how that looks overall.

Base is cut. Need to see if I am using plated walls or wireforms next. I think a wall would block the ball too much, but?

The only ones being made will be the plated version rocket silo.

I planned working on it all day Sunday, but a original owner ghost busters popped for a sale and I was so out of it due to price being too cheap. Expected a scam, but it was not and drove out within minutes to get it. So crazy I forgot shrink wrap or straps. I even forgot to change my shoes. Picked it up in SLIPPERS! I had to sell my ghost busters a few months ago for medical bills.
I will try and get back on it this weekend. But, I see an idea for a “Fxxxing Bill Murray” mod and thats exactly how its going to be labeled. Involves fiber optic aimed at stay puft with a Peter action figure and I want to try it. I will try and split the time. I need to rough out the idea while its in my head.

Completed proton beam mod. Tomorrow is all 007. Sorry for the delays. I am limited to 2 days a week welding. And when I get hit with an idea I have to make it while its in my head. I made a custom spinner to drive proton pack beam light. Hopefully you can understand why I have to build it when it is in my head asap. Sometimes this is a result. I should start shipping the few 007’s that are still interested. As soon as they are fullfiled I am moving the game along if I can find a trade. Hot wheels is my next goal. Looping rails.

Do you have the final version of the wireform done yet or are you still trying the wire rail on the stainless platform?

This mod feels like work and that sucks mentally. Only doing plated silo for that reason. Doing some today, you will see the only version I am selling. And sadly its less then 5 people which also doesnt help mentally. Once I am done with the 5 I am moving on to next project.

Another revision. Made a catwalk to silo. I am stopping for today, it took all day to get here. I will make lower section soon. I will need to figure out the new price as its more material and labor is also increased. It is a all day build for both sections. It will be above $400. I accept and understand if that is too high, I just can kill a entire day for less.

Its ok the lack of interest on Bond has me considering going away from the wireforms and more on mods like ghost busters. Bolt on animated toys. Slink dog, ghostbusters, etc….

My son is sleeping so I cant do a play video, but it functions the same. I will post a video soon. This is my last design attempt for this game.
The lower rail is not polished. But you can see the entire design. I want to add one more mount, but its very solid. It bolts into place and only requires new hardware bolts and relocating the gate switch to the extended arm. There are over 100 welds, high material costs and alot of labor involved to make this. $430 plus shipping. I just cant do this for less. I am also burned out creatively on this machine.

Very dead balls will fall down into lower rail or to rocket. The rocket has a plastic around it completely and the ball falls on to it. I got the too high price messages today.

The cost of materials is $45 for the plate and rods used. And the costs of argon have also increased by $15 a bottle at my supplier. And with over 100 welds its about $7.50 for the gas used in making the mod. I also have to stone, grind, sand, clean, polish and playtest when done. It is alot of work and kills an entire day (8 hours). Our labor rate is $50 an hour. If I was a home modder and not claiming the income it could cost less, but everything we do is as a business and taxed.
Even when the price was under $300 I only had 4 people. So, I really understood that going higher would kill the mod, but I cant do it for less. And with so little demand it seems it is just a failed mod for those reasons.

I appreciate the comments and suggestions. I have the machine up for trade now. If I get stuck with the game the set on it now will be sold to a guy that has bought machines from me before.
This was the first machine that I got personally attacked by some axxhole streamer (Not kaneda) when I posted interest topic with the very first reply. Then the next two were either attacking the game or each other in postings. All toxic from the jump. The bond owners topic is also full of such negative crap to a level I dont understand..(pre code update). The game has a stigma. All negative. The streamer really got me angry. (If your also reading this. Thanks for that!). Then I burned up days trying wireform versions and that only resulted in one that was great… So, I hammer ahead and go with plated version to get hit with price is too high pms. Sometimes a perfect storm of negativity hits you and you just have to say its just not worth it mentally. Everything I have made never feels like a job, but this mod does for those reasons above. Maybe I try again at a different time, but that time is not today. I am taking a break from wireforms. (Unless hot wheels comes up) Ghostbusters proton mod is next and I have a really great idea for star wars. I just need to get the game back. (Not wireforms). I see alot of potential with mechanical mods like ghost busters or things like my slink dog for toy story. Thanks for following this mod and the positive comments.

I had a trade offer that I would be a fool not to make. The trade happened because of the mod, so I will take that as a good thing. The game is gone and I feel better that it is out of my house. Business wise very dumb not to make the 4 sets asked for, but mentally it is priceless to walk away from it. I appologize to the few that asked, but it is not going to happen going forward.

I would trade it for a star wars premium comic version!

And from now on I wont be showing the designs or builds on pinside. I will only post a finished mod in a for sale ad or owners forum. Everything else I make or attempt to make is going on instagram @loganpinball.

For clarity. The first post in my original interest topic was not yours. It was moderated out. In summary “stop making wireforms for every machine you get and leave them as the designer intended and basically the things you make suck”. Paraphrasing. Then you jump into a interest topic and say the game sucks. Then another pinsider says you suck and it was just so dumb. Then I get hit with pms saying my price is too high by a few people. I took no money from anyone and I really was not a fan of the negativity from the start. Its that simple. You could easily have sent a pm to me and discussed your opinion or thought. But again you jump into a topic an insult someone you have never met. I never named you or the other person that started going back and forth. Its so stupid. Everything at the start was the game sucks, the mods too expensive, the code sucks, etc…In the end why do you feel it needed to insult people. If you dont understand that point I feel sorry for you. Enjoy the hobby and just move along to something else. Its that simple.
