For a big Bond fan like me...the art is killer!

I'm curious about the LE/SLE...

Quoted from Thunderbird:

Calling it now: Bond LE Goldfinger edition with gold Crome armor.

Quoted from Medic:

They do but expect to pay more than msrp. Looking for an LE as well at msrp

I contacted a local distributor. They have a couple extras that will be auctioned off to the highest bidder

#2508 1 year ago
Quoted from mstang01:

I’m wondering what color the LEs will be… really don’t want another black or grey

I would think a Thunderball would make the most sense in black or blue...and premium is already blue.

I saw this and had to share!

What we guessing is going to be pricing??
Premium
Pro
LE
SLE

Premium - too much
Pro - too much
LE. - too much
SLE - WAYYYYYYY TOO MUCH

Quoted from J85M:

Two LE packages would be perfect for Bond, Stern could make 700 (007 backwards) of each and easily sell out of them.

Gold Bond edition

#2771 1 year ago
Quoted from J85M:

Nah, when Stern have attempted Gold before it had sucked, GOTGLE & WWELE is advertised as gold powder coating but it’s way more mustard than gold.
Depending how good/bad the art is on the LE, I may get a premium and fully customise the artwork to hyper gloss foil decals, with either a db5 accurate powdercoated colour or gold plating.

...but how would you get the triple action relief?

#2824 1 year ago
Quoted from SkyKing2301:

So.....hey Stern....
[quoted image]
The SPECTRE logo has evolved over time ... but the logo Stern is using in the ramps on the game is from the 2015 version, and not the 1965 version that it probably should be.
[quoted image]
Is Stern watching this thread? (Part of me hopes not, considering what a mess it's been, lol) But if they are, is it too late to correct this? It's the wrong version of the logo for this era Bond theme.

I can see this being left to the modders

How many days after a reveal do people switch from praising a game to bashing it?

Quoted from LeMansFan:

But with the current climate who the heck is going to want a From Russia With Love LE?

I don't get why people keep saying this. It isn't 'pro Russian'

Quite the opposite actually

Quoted from mbrave77:

there are 4 machines. Just confirmed on insider connected podcast with george. just started it

It's gotta be a SLE Goldfinger. $25,000

#3512 1 year ago
Quoted from CrazyLevi:

So this one will sell out, but the next one won't?
There's always 1,000 "dream theme" guys, doesn't really matter the game. It just might not be you next time.

You're not wrong.

This is the first dream theme to have come up in awhile for me.

#3765 1 year ago

I'm interested in the 60th anniversary pin, but the price point has me leery. As a 'street-level' game..it should, by all rights, be much cheaper. My guess is that it will be a big cash grab instead.

#3885 1 year ago
Quoted from snaroff:

I've been a Stern buyer/watcher for 20 years, and my intuition says the gameplay & rules of the Gomez Bond are going to be a let down. Not because of Gomez, but because of the team and the limited Connery licensing.
MANY of us (that have watched Elwin revive Stern) are going to want Keith's game with ALL the Bond content. I'm also a fan of the more old school design and it will be intriguing to see what Keith comes up with...it's a design space he hasn't explored yet.
If the demand is great, Stern would be silly to limit production to 500 worldwide.

They will limit it to 500 to keep exclusivity and markup the price. I'm guessing you will get the quality of a $5000-$6000 pin with a price tag of $20,000+

Quoted from NashtyFunk:

Can we go back to irrationally hyping them game?

Bond needs no hype. This is a straight up dream theme for many of us!

I am very curious about the 60th year anniversary edition...

#4457 1 year ago
Quoted from indybru:

Personally I like the Dr.No pro the best, it's a price performer. Dr.No started it all.
I like the yellow cabinet the best with JB, Dr.No and the bond girls. Toss in the extra features in the premium and LE models are mediocre for my taste. Can't wait to check it out at Expo.
Cheers

All models look very enticing to me...but I may have to hold out to see if a Goldfinger edition is made (as has been rumored), since that is my favorite Bond game

#4468 1 year ago
Quoted from kool1:

I actually don't mind the yellow cabinet but the translite is not the best. I would replace it personally.
Bang for buck pro is a great pin and the cheapest NIB you can buy. It's going to shoot very well.

I'm actually shocked how many people here are unfamiliar with these Connery films. Most before I was born but classics! I always assumed every red blooded man over 40 had seen them all!

What I'm shocked about most are the complaints about the artwork in general. I think it is FANTASTIC.
Having said that, yellow just isn't my color, so I would be more tempted to go with another model (amongst other reasons)

#4471 1 year ago

If I look at it objectively, I prefer the LE artwork overall...but I actually like the translite and backbox art on the premium better. The pro is my least favorite...but more so because of the color...not the art.

The 60th anniversary edition gives me a real 'Goldeneye' feel...which I also like (though not as much as the overall premium or LE look). I have been told that the look in the pic below isn't the final iteration, however.
Screenshot_20220925-193709 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193709 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193808 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193808 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193835 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193835 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193903 (resized).pngScreenshot_20220925-193903 (resized).png

P.S. The lack of art on the coin door area and on the backbox sides on the 60th is weak at best. I hope they change those.

Quoted from ZNET:

I think that you make several good points. Nevertheless, the release of the Ruby Red and Yellow Brick Road WOZ versions had a counterintuitive effect upon the value of the original standard and Emerald City editions.
The 2 subsequent releases sold at considerably higher price points than the 2 original versions, causing the "value tide" of all versions to rise. For example, the WOZECLE originally sold for $6,500 in 2013 (considered outrageously high, at the time). Today, that version sells for about the same as the Ruby and YBR versions.
The YBR version lacks the flying monkey mechanism. Yet, it was priced on par with or greater than the earlier Ruby edition when released. The Emerald City version (and some of the standard versions) had the incredible high gloss cabinet feature (replaced by Radcals after JJP had a falling out with cabinet supplier).
Succinctly stated, subsequent versions, albeit inferior, established a new and greater price baseline, which actually increased the value of predecessor versions. The dilution effect of more WOZ units and versions in the world was offset entirely by the price baseline phenomenon.

I'm just going to take the time out to add that the ECLE WOZ is EASILY the very best version...and it isn't close.

Im all chopped up and whacked out for this game. I think the goofy sausage is going to pipe bloom the cheese sauce. Honestly I say yoooooo it’s all up in there with the code and I see the hot topics of the gravey baby!

Quoted from calprog:

I love Bond. All of it! They are great movies! Cool apt action, girls and cars. Who could ask for anything more. Game looks cool but not $14,500 cool for a Le. I’m sure the economy changes, inflation and sky high prices will hurt the sales of this game. It’s really unfortunate. This game would sell like hot cakes for $9,999.

It's going to sell like hot cakes regardless. This is one of the most sought after themes that has come out in a long, L-O-N-G time.

#5450 1 year ago
Quoted from Scotty_K:

The thing that I find interesting about watching Dr. No is that Bond is presented differently than in any of the other films that followed it. He relies much more on his own skills of spy craft, rather than any fancy gadgets, and in my mind, shows him to be more creative. Placing a strand of hair between the two closet doors of his hotel room, sprinkling powder on the latches of his briefcase, having a sealed back-up bottle of vodka, and so forth. The gadgets began to get added in From Russia with Love (briefcase with concealed knife and gold coins), and they seemed to get more outrageous as the movies went on. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you, but I just seem to like that in Dr. No it just him.

I totally agree with you on your assessment; it's my favorite, too, although Goldfinger runs pretty close. That fricken' laser between the legs scene and the accompanying dialogue is classic!

Funny you should say that. I'm a big Bond fan. Like...real big. Most purists prefer either Goldfinger or From Russia with Love. Goldfinger fans enjoy the more extravagant Bond and the pithy dialogue (Goldfinger is my favorite) and those who champion FRWL tend to appreciate a more subdued and less gadget-driven Bond.

It's tough to pick just one Bond girl. Barbara Bach, Denise Richards, and Jill st. John cone to mind.

I know most people tend to pick Ursula Andress, however.

This game sucks, face reality

I don't think I would go that far...but I am definitely disappointed in the wobbling rocket. It just seems like anything else would have been better.

Quoted from NashtyFunk:

I can’t play this game enough. I can only imagine once the code is further along.

Level with me; how annoying is the wobbling rocket on a scale of 1-10?

This hype has absolutely slowed to a crawl...

#6520 1 year ago
Quoted from glasairpilot:

GBLE was also not liked. Everyone complained about the code and how brutal the center drain was. If you still have your GBLE it is worth 2x what you paid.

It is such a popular theme and a great game. Despite its' popularity, circumstances as they are mean that it will be never be re-released or vaulted. I bought one knowing that it would be the lowest price I would ever see (in spite of it costing me a lot). I knew it was either buy now or never own.

I have insider information, it will never be re-made...so it will only go up in price.

Quoted from Utesichiban:

So Game Exchange not only won't refund your deposit but also want a transfer fee? Good grief, doesn't seem like a great way to retain customers.

Quoted from spidey:

Selling my LE spot for $13550, but sales tax required in several states. See my ad.
Not making money, I have to pay a $500 transfer fee.

This is truly ridiculous

There is no other business model like this that I have ever heard, and yet people keep letting it happen.

I was very sad I wasn't able to go to HAAG to play bond, but I'm glad they are starting to ship. It gives me hope of playing it soon.
