I'm trying to just adopt a mindset of not caring what LEs are priced at. Most that are bitching here weren't LE buyers anyway, myself included.
They've never been worth anything over a premium to me, they're frankly for super fans. It's artificial scarcity, and I wouldn't pay anything for that crap. But I hope they continue to sell, and I hope they indeed do subsidize Pro/Pre prices with the pure profit they yield Stern. (Flippers/price gougers are a whole other thing that I wish Stern would try to curtail.)
It's the Pro and especially Premium pricing that I'm most bummed about here. I'm NOT spending $10k for a premium, period, just not justifiable, and $7k is really pushing it for more and more sparse feeling Pros.
I'm glad I ended up with my 3 machines at this point - GZ, IMDN, and MET. It's certainly disappointing to see yourself getting priced out of getting more. Not that I couldn't afford it if I wanted another, it's just getting too hard to justify it for a toy, even if I really love owning these things.
Oh well, woe is me - whinging over. Blah blah
Eta: oh, and I'm sure Stern will sell every Elwin SLE at $20k+ and love it. I'm fairly disappointed that what sounds like a really awesome game will be so limited though. 4 spinners, tons of drops, single level with super unique shots, Elwin awesome rules? That sounds dang close to what I'd build myself, and in fact have designed in Virtual Pinball and hope to homebrew one day.
I just hope I even get to play this the SLE someday...
