Quoted from m00nmuppet:

If it puts the player in the role of Bond, hurry-ups are gonna be damn fun.

Not if its a love scene.

#152 1 year ago

I’ve always missed out on stern LEs. Is there a distro or two out there where you can reserve one or get on a list or lottery? Thanks

Quoted from Rarehero:

I'm still fully enjoying my most current batch of newish games (Godzilla, Rush, JP, R&M, UM, even TNA), so I'm more than happy to sit this out. Hope it's awesome for you Bond fans! If I end up thinking it's awesome, I'm cool waiting to get one down the road.
I've actually never seen a Connery Bond movie. I saw the first Dalton one in the theater...some of the Pierce Brosnan ones. I owned Sega's Goldeneye pin for a while...prob my favorite Sega pin. I think I saw all of the Craig ones except for the most recent. I can't recall much about the Bond series other than the music.

Newest Craig one is worth watching as a huge bond fan I really enjoyed No time to Die, I’d rank it Craig’s second best behind Casino Royale.

Quoted from Psw757:

If it is a tribute to Connery as Bond why not just do the 6 films?
I do agree the 4 you listed were his best, I have a hunch diamonds will be included.

The villains in Diamonds are great.
Mr Wint + Mr Kidd

Quoted from ZoraShinoda:

Man talk multiball!

Connery smacking womens butts should be the new knocker sound, although not viewed fondly under modern eyes, it was Connery improvising and it was a part of what Bond was in the 60s.

Ballpark time from announcement to shipping? How long until we're playing this machine? Anyone know the average time?

#158 1 year ago

Been a Bond fan forever. I'm super excited. Haven't been excited this much about a pinball release since Iron Maiden.

If it is Gomez on design, then the LE designer signature plaques should be signed Gomez, George Gomez.

Normally within a month. If you go to the early pages of each recent Stern pin's thread, you can get an idea of how long it takes initial pros to arrive on location along with people's first impressions

I don’t think that kind of LGBT representation is going to fly in 2022

#163 1 year ago
Quoted from chenti999:

That whole movie should probably be remade by John Waters.

Wintt and Kidd, hand in hand, till your death do they part!
Blofeld in drag, for no apparent reason.
Plenty O' Tool's problems are all behind her now.
Killer playboy bunnies!

This thing was camp the day it was released, now it's pretty much an ironic Pride Parade.

It’s pretty cringe. No reason to include it simply because it’s not very good.

In for an LE!!!
Thank god, dream theme for me

When I started showing my wife Bond I went Goldfinger and then Diamonds. Diamonds was my favorite growing up...so over the top...it's like if they jumped the shark if the shark was wearing a pink boa.

Elvira

Heavy Metal
Led Zep
Mando

I’m a huge Bond and I mean huge!

But I need to see the layout, know the coder and see what’s in it physically and code wise before considering one.

For sure - it has to be a fun game .

I don't care much for Godzilla but it's a fun game and it looks killer!

Quoted from John_I:

Wow Sean Connery era! If so this just went from a really good theme to dream theme.

For Connery Bond fans you should check out the Italian film "OK, Connery (US tile was Operation Kid Brother)". It's a 1967 James Bond rip off that stars Sean Connerys real brother, Neil Connery. He actually looks a lot like Sean. It's so bad MST3K did an episode with it.

The interesting part is it stars a bunch of actors from the official Bond films: the female love interest From Russia with Love, the bad guy from Thunderball, the geologist from Dr. No, M, and Ms Moneypenny. Apparently Lois Maxwell (Moneypenny) made more money from this single film than she did from all of her Bomd films combined.

The combination of 60's era cheese factor and Italian weirdness is off the charts on this one. Its so bad that the MST3K version is the only way to make it bearable enough to sit through.

Maybe Homepin can make a pin based on this movie.

Doc is on point here. This movie is so bad it’s good, but the MST3K version is top notch. Grab some popcorn and thank us later:

Goldfinger edition. Hell yeah!
I can’t wait for this machine.
Give me Sean Connery before all the pc bullshi*
that exists today.
Hot chicks. Guns. Spies. Villains. Hot chicks.
This is going to be fantastic!

It's too bad Neil Connery's voice was dubbed. I wanted to hear how close his voice was to Seans.

#178 1 year ago

don't care until I see the playfield. I don't remember the last time I was sold on a machine on theme alone. So many themes I would never have cared about are incredible (Iron Maiden, Tron Legacy) and so many games I thought would be a killer theme are snoozers (WWE, LZ)

You are so right, no modern Bond has Villains. Or Guns. Or Spies. Or 'Hot Chicks'.

#180 1 year ago

It needs to use Nixie tubes for any countdowns.

And the Goldfinger theme: Goldfinger, he's the man, the man with the midas touch. A spider's touch. Such a cold finger, beckons you into his web of sin. BUT DON'T GO IN!

If it is only the Connery era I hope the LE is gold/brass plated gold finger edition

It’s also the 60th anniversary of the franchise this year.

I’d be fine with whatever era they choose except the most recent, they suck.
And to start even more shit, the best bond and most true to Flemings books was Dalton
100% he was the best bond

#182 1 year ago

I wonder if it will actually mention the individual movies or be more focused on the era.

I agree with starscream - dalton was by a million miles the closest to Flemings books.

And the irony is Dalton was disliked as his Bond was by far the most violent and brutal compared to Moore, Lazenby and Connery.

Both brilliant films just 30 years ahead of their time for critics and viewers at the time.

#185 1 year ago

Great theme, great designer!

With that being said, I want to see what the game is all about before I put down a deposit. Especially with a price increase. I'm expecting the game to be worth it.

Hopefully, it is.

I hope so!

#187 1 year ago

Could have easily skipped a price increase if they had done a SLE and 00 edition for anyone that wanted a super limited super expensive version, would have helped us mere mortals.

#188 1 year ago

Nope.

That’s what the character was though
An agent on the edge with little care for repercussions who lived for the moment and deliberately isolated from others.
Rough and jagged and wouldn’t think twice of putting a bullet in you

He wasn’t the schmoozing one liner bond who was always with beautiful women night after night and loyal to her majesty above all

Having said that I did like all the others portrayals, and Craig did really try going down the dalton road much more than the other four did.
But that last film, Jesus. What on earth where they thinking

Oh damn, was it woke cringe? I have a Skyfall allergy because of the "mommy doesn't love me" angle.

Gomez as the designer and Sean Connery theme!!!!! wow I am all in cant believe the good news this is really great!!!!

No, it just sucked.

Some of you guys seemed to have forgotten that something doesn’t have to be woke to suck. There’s plenty of suck to go around folks!

Regardless, stern isn’t dumb were you a kid during the 70s or 80s? Whatever it is you want will be the bond game.

Secured my le at msrp from Next Level. Now to await the cool mods sure to come, so many Bond gadgets to be made.

Bond was always huge in our family because Sean Connery was my grandmothers milkman in Edinburgh and they were friends (Edinburgh is my hometown). He was invited back to the City to receive the keys to the city and he invited my gran to the ceremony.

Confirmed I’m on the list with my distributor for an LE. But I’m gonna wait and see what they show on Tuesday before committing 100%. Then I’ll have to decide which game to sell so my wife doesn’t murder me in my sleep.

Biggest surprise in the last bond film was how much it sucked ...

I've been a life long Bond fan but, I thought the last few Mission Impossible films were a lot better than the last few Bond films.
