We have already been down the Beatles road and while it’s a cool game, beautiful art, it didn’t work out so well sales wise.

Subbing in Elwin this time to do a single level game versus a re-skin really gonna make that big of a difference for the money they are gonna want to charge?

The leaked photos seem very suspicious to me. Stern is always tight as a drum on leaks, and how much time do they spend from licensing to final development, sometimes years and it never leaks.

And somehow they slip up this time by delivering this pin to the show and had it set up without any controls over it? What did they think was going to happen?

All you "do" in Bacarat is pick who you think is going to win before the cards are dealt -- player or banker. Then the cards are dealt according to the rules. If you're correct, then you win. It's sort of like picking red or black in roulette.

Brilliant idea. A casino theme is an absolute Bond staple. Would be fun to work that into a video mode as an occasional minigame.

On the thread of Bond actors, George Lazenby made one of the best overall Bond films in the collection (On Her Majesty's Secret Service). I saw it on TV as a kid, but after that dismissed it because "everybody" said Lazenby was terrible. But rewatching it a few years ago was quite enjoyable and packed more of an emotional punch than maybe any of the others until the Craig films came along. Bond to me is like pinball. Some are much better than others, but even the "bad" ones are fun.

The whole pinball secrecy is so dumb…video games don’t do it. If JJP would have shown progress updates on TS4 and solicited feedback I imagine that game would be very different. I don’t see the benefit of total secrecy…I’ve heard the logic goes it’s to not canabalize existing game sales, but pinheads all now there will be new games coming even if the details are hidden.

Finally, we can be done with this debate. This guy’s wife said it’s all good. If that isn’t definitive proof then I don’t know what is.

Ask JJP how this approach worked for them on Hobbit and especially POTC. People get all worked up about the details, mad when they aren’t changed to their liking, and then by the time the game drops in 6 months or a year the hype and FOMO has completely faded and the game doesn’t sell well.

Stern does things the way it does because it maximizes sales.

There are many bright people on Pinside and in the hobby but I feel as though public influence on new game would be similar to the car that Homer designed.

I’m not suggesting the public design the game, but I cannot imagine JJP wouldn’t have taken the nearly unanimous feedback and make some tweaks. I think most products undergo consumer testing, focus groups ect (including cars and they don’t end up as homer mobiles)
