Quoted from PinMonk:Weird there's no 007 iconography on the backglass art, when they have it on the apron.
But then people would say that's redundant
The only place I’ve seen James Bond is on the apron printed above the premium instruction card.
Quoted from PinMonk:007 is all over the apron, but it's the wrong 007 if Gomez was going for the retro look. So there can't have been a prohibition on using 007 because it IS on the game, just not on on the backglass.
Here's an article about the evolution of the logo:
https://spycommandfeatures.wordpress.com/the-evolution-of-the-007-logo/
Here's an era-appropriate (ugly) 007 to match the ugly backglass:

Uhh a Dr. No poster is a 1000 times better than the drippy “kaleidoscope throwing up” look on the backglass of every new superhero game.
That pro back glass is stupid!
Confirmed no one will be putting money into the pro on location! kids won’t even know it’s James Bond so stupid
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:Better theme then Deadpool? That’s crazy to me
Understand that I really like Deadpool even though it is the comic book and not the movie. Sean Connery Bond is more on the level of a dream theme for me.
Quoted from Spacemanratso09:Better theme then Deadpool? That’s crazy to me
Stop trollin!
Quoted from beltking:At this point get rid of pros and do two models like jjp. Too expensive to produce anymore and have to take everything out for lower price point. No point.
I disagree! Say goodbye to pinball on location no one is getting a ROI on a 9k+ game
Quoted from Pinplayer1967:That pro backglass is a disaster. Come on Stern
You probably had black light megadeath posters up in your bedroom. Grab a martini and get some class sir!
Quoted from TheGunnett:I bet you a nickel it’s coded by Dwight
[quoted image]
I really hope so!
Quoted from cooked71:Backglass seems odd to me - looks like a placeholder. The 007 logo is weird.
Edit: Just saw that Pinmonk link and the logo is correct. Still an odd backglass.[quoted image]
I added the era-appropriate retro 007 logo to the Dr. No. There is no "007" or "James Bond" on the backglass at all, despite the Roger Moore era 007 logo being all over the apron and apron cards.
Quoted from Xdetroit:The only place I’ve seen James Bond is on the apron printed above the premium instruction card.
James Bond and the wrong era "007" are all over the aprons of the Pro AND the Prem. (Pro is on the right, barely in this pic)

Not trolling just like Deadpool as it’s kinda like based on something NOW
I’m a Roger Moore kid, when I was presented Connery 007 I didn’t want to watch that old busted Bond,I liked the new hotness that was Roger Moore.
I respect the other Bond movies from back in the day,but to me the best ones are the newest ones
Dude Deadpool is current
I guess the way I put it out there was trolling ha ha
Quoted from TheGunnett:I bet you a nickel it’s coded by Dwight

My least favorite software in pinball ever…the SW shot multiplier. I was hoping it would be contained to just SW, but it’s rearing it’s ugly head again.
I want to enjoy a Dwight game, but if the multiplier gimmick is as important and anti-fun as it was in SW, then I’m going to hurl.
Bizarre art package, looks like something from the ugly 2000s Stern era, like it coulda come out somewhere between POTC and NBA
Quoted from Bellystyle:Kaneda just posted more Pro pics. Everything except the eject seat is missing. Holy shit, that's bad....
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Pro is really really disappointing, sorry Gomez - you lost me
Needs a generic cab art and translite that can suit many of the themes and blended,
Hate the mash of posters on the side, playfield art needs to be illustrated art or realistic like Batman.

Nah I know you weren’t trollin’. I was actually trollin you! All good though…
Roger Moore was a G.
Quoted from DropGems:You probably had black light megadeath posters up in your bedroom. Grab a martini and get some class sir!
You think that’s a high class black glass art? That’s arguably one the worst I’ve seen.
“James bond” is not all over. It’s written one time that I can find. On the left side of the aprons. Anyone find any others?
Quoted from PinMonk:James Bond and the wrong era "007" are all over the aprons of the Pro AND the Prem. (Pro is on the right, barely in this pic)[quoted image]
Quoted from Crumbalimb:George probably does not get enough recognition or notice of what a great designer he is and the great games he has put out.
Corvette (1994)
Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
NBA Fastbreak (1997)
Monster Bash (1998)
Revenge From Mars (1999)
Playboy (2002)
The Lord of the Rings (2003)[3]
The Sopranos (2005)[4]
Batman (pinball) (2007)
Transformers (pinball) (2011)
The Avengers (2012)
Batman 66 (2016)
Spider-Man The Pin (2017) (consumer game)
Supreme (2017) (Private Label)
The Beatles (2018)
Deadpool (2018)
Star Wars Pin (2019) (consumer game)
He definitely loves pinball and glad he's still making games and not just running Stern on the business side.
I've owned 9 of his games.
Deadpool is a keeper and I would like a Sopranos again.
Quoted from coloradodan:So who has a deposit on it? My distro is taking deposits, I'm about to drop 1000 on it... but wpuld have to give up star wars comic art.
I'd keep that any day of the week
Seems odd to have "Dr. No" taking up so much space on the backglass. The artwork itself looks looks great, but it looks to small compared to the text. Would way better is the art was bigger and the text was smaller.
Quoted from PinMonk:My main question from the pics is WHY is the arm for jetpack bond SO ENORMOUS? It's a huge eyesore. I can't believe they couldn't have gotten the job done with a slotted rod like 1/3 or 1/4th as big. What weight is at the end? A coil, a bracket, and a plastic figure? C'mon, Stern engineering, try harder.[quoted image]
A long wraparound sky blue sticker would be a super simple mod to help mask that arm.
The cabinet art really reminds me of Blunderturds !
That is not a good thing
It all looks like a hot mess . Like a Sega pin of the era
Quoted from Taygeta:My least favorite software in pinball ever…the SW shot multiplier. I was hoping it would be contained to just SW, but it’s rearing it’s ugly head again.

There’s two things I can’t stand that Stern does occasionally. Saw Both on Star Wars. The “uni-standup target” and the multiplier/action button.
It’s disappointing that someone thought the multiplier button was good the first time around. It sucked the first time around.
With that said, I’m totally in on a Goldfinger LE edition. (I hope there is one.) This theme is one of my favorites.
What I hope for is that you as a player could somehow turn that bullshit multiplier button off during tournament play or something.
Who’s the knucklehead that keeps bringing that back at Stern because it blows.
The game mechs and layout looks interesting and fun.
I think a lot of expected the art to be a lot more than just old Movie posters cut out and slapped on the game. The translight and cabinet are just that. Even the placard below the translight is just lifted from a move poster. Just blows my mind.
Quoted from KingVidiot:Christ almighty some of you are ultra negative. This is a Dr. No poster from the era.
[quoted image]
Quoted from Good-Times:Deleted post
I think what’s off about the backglass isn’t the art, but the fact that it doesn’t accurately display the name of the pinball machine. Rush and Led Zeppelin are 2 recent games that had very different back glasses for each trim level but they still let you know what game it was if you walked by it at an arcade. If I walked by this game I wouldn’t think it’s a Bond game, but a Dr No game. However looking at the playfield you quickly see that it’s a Sean Connery era Bond game about all his films. It just doesn’t fit. I do actually really like the movie poster art, it fits well with the theme. Playfield art… reminds me of my Stern Striker Xtreme and that’s not compliment.
When is the last time a pinball machine didn’t display the name of the game on the backglass AND it didn’t come with a topper that then displayed the name of the game? Halloween CE and Lost World Jurassic Park both come to mind but they both have a topper with the name of the game.
Quoted from Xdetroit:“James bond” is not all over. It’s written one time that I can find. On the left side of the aprons. Anyone find any others?
Look down. It's right there in the pic on the cab of the Prem, too.
Quoted from Yoko2una:A long wraparound sky blue sticker would be a super simple mod to help mask that arm.
I don't know if the blue would be less distracting. A mirror-polished arm would at least reflect what's around it and make it less obvious.
For the slot, I was thinking like blue car-wash microfiber fingers or something to fill in that giant black hole and still allow the arm to move unobstructed.

I thought the exact same thing for the large slot. I still think a sky blue sticker would blend better with the background and allow the Bond figure to pop more. It’s currently a dark figure on a dark rod so they look tied together.

Random thought - what if the arm is chunky so it can support a spinning Oddjob hat throw on a different model? Oddjobs hat in Sean Connery James Bond is as iconic as the ejector seat Aston Martin. Agree on blue car wash fibers to conceal the backboard gash.

Whitewater and Addams Family don't have the name on the backglass.

No 007, no credits, ot blurb up the top, just the image and Dr NO.
At least the Stern design/marketing team credits at the bottom, and cheesy pinball themed description up the top...and the 007 logo. Just looks really odd,.

It's also a san-serif font on the backglass. The original posters I've seen from the era have "Dr. No" in a serif font. Makes a difference. But maybe a serif font looked weird that gigantic.
Solution? Don't make it THAT GIGANTIC.
EDIT: Some of the posters have san serif fonts.
