Im in for SLE if I can get one.

#452 1 year ago

Based on Batman and Deadpool I have no doubt this will be an A+ title in terms of creativity and theme integration . IMO homes is the star designer at Stern over Keith.

#454 1 year ago

I agree with this. No need for it.

Are we going to see this machine today?

I think around 11 CST we should see a glimpse of it. Fingers crossed.

I already placed my deposit with my distributor last night for a premium. Wife loves bond sonits a no brainer for us.

If I buy this machine my wife is going to have issues. I will have gone from 0 machines to 3 in less than 10 months.

Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, right guys……right?

#459 1 year ago

Ejector seat could be cool, hopefully it is better than just s VUK rail sticking out the roof of a DB5 model

#460 1 year ago

Maybe there should be a reference to QE2 on this machine somehow.

Same Dude, I went from first machine in Feb this year to 3 in a matter of 6 months... now I'm on a list. When my Wife returns from working outta state in November, she'll be quite surprised

I got my first pin about 4 months ago ( WPT ), then bought 2 more the month after ( southpark and roadshow ). I sold Southpark, and other cabinets, to justify buying a NIB Avengers Premium.

I then got a chance to get Godzilla premium 3 weeks ago. I sold a few dance machines to justify.

Now I have 2 NIB premiums and about to have premium Bond. It's all a balance I guess.

Sounds like no balance after the pinball bug hits.

Im starting to get a mini angel of myself on my right shoulder that is saying "Dont worry if you dont get one, you will be fine"
and then the mini myself devil on my left shoulder that is saying "you better get one or you are coming with me"

Yellowstone TV show premiered in June 2018. Please see the graph below. The price increase had to do with COVID price spikes, the inflection point is right around Dec'20 same as the rest of the US. https://www.zillow.com/mt/home-values/

Make a visit again in winter and you might change your mind

#472 1 year ago

Life is too short to get hung up on politics.

Jack is a great guy and his knowledge, enthusiasm and love for pinball is so important for the next generation of the hobby. I am a huge Gomez fan but he won't be around forever.

#473 1 year ago

Yes, I think you guys may have it backwards. Montana has been getting expensive because of California rich flight and vacation homes for some time.

That's why they knew the show would be a hit - because it is now cool to be a cowboy again, even among the CA 'elite.'

That hockey stick is definitely Covid related, as it is similar to almost every desirable, non-urban area over the same period.

Yeah, I dont really know what the shirts he wears or the beliefs he holds have to do with how he designs pinball machines. But I'm curious to see what he comes up with for his first cornerstone.

Bozeman is fantastic but I found it hard to make a living there. Costs were high back then. You can't eat the mountains! Granted this was 20 years ago. I've lived there, worked there and went to school there. Winter is great if you like skiing. Bridger Bowl is the place to go.

Relax, if you don’t get a SLE (which we don’t even know exists yet) or an LE (which we haven’t even seen yet) just get a premium, there’s no to panic, it’s no surprise Stern continue to add price increases some of you are practically climbing over yourselves to get the most expensive version of something you haven’t seen yet, Stern have you eating out their hand.

Was my first though also, but I don’t hold much hope.

#483 1 year ago

Yeah the obvious "ejector seat" would be a VUK that shoots the ball out of a DB5 model, and if it is that's still kinda fun. But we are talking George Gomez so there's a good chance it's cooler than that, like the ball somehow lands in an actual seat that shoots upwards launching the ball somewhere. But I will keep my hype in check.

When you learn that a pinball machine about James Bond has more toys in it than a 15k machine about toys called Toy Story...

"Keep politics out of pinball".... Soooo.... "Freedom of speech, but not like that"

When you represent a company its just not a good idea to alienate half your customer base. Would be the same if he wore something from the other side of the argument. Just bad taste.

If this theme doesn’t do anything for you and you want to continue your relationship with your distributor, contact me. I’d love to pick up an LE of Bond. I won’t be available to contact the distributors on release day. I grew up with Bond and don’t want to miss out on this theme. Thanks for any help!

Politics have been controlling pin decision for years. It’s why The Shadow doubled in price after Aurich created an alt translite that didn’t feature Alec Baldwin. To each their own.

Could be some version of what he did with magnets in the glove for Johnny Mnemonic. Gomez was originally a toy designer so he doesn’t usually disappoint. But that could be a great start to the multiball. Stern’s been getting very creative with their toys lately, like the trex in JP. I’m excited to see what toys are in this pin and how it shoots.

He started that in like 2014...so 8 years ago? Are you sureeeeeee The Shadow didn't double in price because it's one of the best 90s DMDs and it was pretty cheap (relatively) until a few years ago and people are recently realizing it's great?

So…were we expecting news today? It’s my understanding that distributors are having or had a call with stern today…

If it's Sean Connery-centric and not all of the films...and not a Beatles-type disaster, I'm in.

It sounded like Gomez was all-in on Connery being HIS Bond spirit animal. Certainly felt like it's going to be a parallel of Batman '66, which focused on one specific Batman and era. Or the way GZ sticks with one iteration of Godzilla. Gives the theme a nice unity with the assets and tone.

Quoted from izzymonkey:

The franchise grabbed me very early with Connery on television, Moore's earliest films in the theater, and I was jumping outta my seat when Brosnan got out of the 'Remington Steele' gig to take on the role. Daniel Craig, however, is easily the closest to Fleming's depiction in the books--even if Fleming himself wanted David Niven from the start. There are so many moments from the Craig films that I will rank above my darlings from Connery et al..
If you want adaptations close(ish) to the original books, look no further than Craig's 'Casino Royale' and then Connery's 'From Russia With Love'. Period.

Fleming's Bond was tall, dark hair, slender. Craig is stocky, near-butch brown haircut, short, sculpted body....nothing like in the novels. All Craig has in common with 007 in the novels, physically, is the blue eyes.

Lol, imagine being ok letting a company dictate what you wear outside work hours, i'd tell them to get bent. Bad taste is saying what someone should or shouldn't wear on their own stream, no one is forcing anyone to watch, mar dude.

I don't watch the guy. I assumed they were talking about his streaming for the company, while representing the company. My bad
