So Bon Jovi may be next up at Stern instead of Iron Maiden. Will you be buying one for your collection?

    #2 6 years ago

Where do you see that the license was aquired?

    #3 6 years ago

    hell

It was brought up over in the KISS thread again and I just made a new thread so it didn't go off into Bon Jovi instead of KISS. Wakky seems to have more to contribute on the subject.

    #5 6 years ago

That's a totally different band that's nothing like Bon Jovi...

Jon has aged well he has a great voice .
But I would not buy any music from Bon Jovi .
Never a Bon Jovi themed pinball .
    But that is me .
Hell Original Van Halen would be better .

Long before we get to an artist like Bon Jovi, Ozzy needs to be addressed.

    #11 6 years ago

While I happen to own a car he bought in the late 80s, the sound of a Bon Jovi pin does nothing for me (could always be surprised).

Yeah, you probably own John Voight's Chrysler LeBaron convertible with wood grain side-paneling too, huh.

    #13 6 years ago

Pick up Tommy at the docks and Gina at the diner to start livin' on a prayer multiball.

    Bon Jovi sucks.

We need a Black Sabbath pin first.

Still if someone cannot prove the license was acquired, this will not be built.

Iron maiden is off and bonjovi is the replacement? Worst Christmas ever.

Ha ha Funny enough the few forms of documentation I have show a name spelled a bit different than his stage name (John F Bongiovi Jr), but the home address, VIN, etc. confirm it

    #18 6 years ago

Bon Jovi won't sell. They are a good band, but not Iconic like Aerosmith nor does the fan base seem to be ones that would buy pinball.

Kiss, Metallica, the Rolling Stones, and ACDC have huge followings. Elvis was iconic.

I'd say either a 60s band like Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, or Led Zeppelin.

Any 80s hair rock band would surely fail. No one cares

Any metal band like Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Scorpions, Def Leppard, would work well.

No one cares about Bon Jovi.

    My wishlist would be

    Avenged Sevenfold
    Iron Maiden
    Five Finger Death Punch
Black Sabbath with Ozzy doing call outs.

Masters of Metal that has a mix of everyone from Slayer, Slipknot and others.

    #20 6 years ago

Last time I checked, mostly MEN purchase new pinball machines, not women.

    Hell no. NEXT

    #21 6 years ago

I would not mind it but I want my iron maiden so bad. I also think led Zeppelin, queen, and motley Crue would be better choices than bon Jovi.

    #22 6 years ago

There's just a lot of great bands that don't have much of a real thematic "feel" to them to create a "world under glass" IMO. Rolling Stones is one such example. Now that RZ has been made and Alice is on the horizon, my next hope would have been Dio if he were still around for custom callouts.

    #23 6 years ago

Led Zeppelin a million times over Bon Jovi.

    #24 6 years ago

Iron maiden or bon Jovi? Hopefully there is a third option.

    Quoted from Rdoyle1978:

No one said Iron Maiden not happening.

Stern buy licenses years in advance so maybe this is a 2019 pin?

    #26 6 years ago

I don't think the majority of pinheads are clamoring for Bon Jovi or Iron Maiden. Iron Maiden has it's followers and Bon Jovi might still be fun but neither are exactly slam dunk licenses. If either are made and the games are good I'll play them. Neither make me want to buy them though and I'm a big fan of music pins. If they are dream themes for others then that is great for them, I don't mind setting out a few releases. Not a big deal either way.

    #27 6 years ago

Nothing like playing pinball while "Bed of Roses Wizard Mode" is playing.... Nope.....no thanks.... "I'll be there for you" multiball LMAO

    #28 6 years ago

Bon Jovi is dead to me ever since he tried to buy the Buffalo Bills and move them to Toronto. Screw Bon Jovi.

Iron Maiden at least would have better art packages and possibilities for game play & bash toys. I think Gottlieb's 'Rock' machine already covered Bon Jovi anyway

    #31 6 years ago

I don't know how many of you watched the NHRA finals? But the clue to the next pin was all over a certain car. Yes I'm talkin TS pin.

I don't know where you get your info from but I heard it would be White Snake?

OP said Bonjovi may be up next instead of Maiden - but I guess if maiden’s Still happening I can ignore that this exists..

    #35 6 years ago

Nope the environment is right for a Taylor Swift pin.

    #36 6 years ago

Iron Maiden can still fill arenas...Bon Jovi plays indian casinos

I think a general 80s hair band theme with songs from a bunch of different iconic bands would be fun and could nicely cash in on the 80s nostalgia factor that seems to be going on lately. Get some classic songs in there like twisted sister's "we're not gonna take it", Bon Jovi "livin in a prayer", Def leopard "pour some sugar on me", maybe some skid row, whitesnake, motley crew, etc.

Could be a lot of fun

dude, no way... FFDP and AV are better than both Aerosmith and Bon Jovi..
Just listen "Jekyll and Hyde" ....

I disagree. Aerosmith is a legendary rock band so whether you like them or not, thats not even a debate really. Bon Jovi, while a stupid idea, I would still be less embarrassed to stand in front of than those 2 generic fake "metal bands". Its not like I'm an old timer whos trying to relive my glory days of letting my mullet flap in the breeze created by my camaro's T-tops either.

    #42 6 years ago

Aside from being a huge Maiden fan, the art package alone would attract people to play it because it "looks cool". My opinion of course. Even celebrities and kids that don't listen to the band buy and wear their shirts... see any of them wearing Bon Jovi shirts?

Same reason we first bought their records back in the 80s - the art look sooooo cool!

Bon Jovi is a no way for me
My wife loves them. I've seen them and they are good. I listen to the music, but in no way shape or format can I imagine making a pinball game with Bon Jovi.

I really like the mix tape idea or Monsters of Rock or something with multiple bands.

Can you imagine 8 different endings based on what band you pick or a rock band type game with 10 songs. You build a fan base as you progress through the songs. Even a 3 band pin with 4 songs for each band where the player plays to become the master of rock or rock champion with that band.

Have mini wizard modes for each band. If they could mix Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and even Motley Crue, Poison together, that would be okay.

A stand alone Bon Jovi will in no way shape or formed sell unless you are selling to 40 year old women as your main target market.

Still thinking Rock Band pin with Bon Jovi and other hands songs in it would be okay though as it could appeal to everyone.

The licensing would be a nightmare, but how about a Monster of Rock 1992 “Castle Donington” edition - with Metallica, AC/DC and -Pantera-! Oh and the Black Crowes were there too

    1992 Donnington lineup was:
    Saturday, August 22, 1992

    Iron Maiden
    Skid Row
    Slayer
    The Almighty
    Thunder
    W.A.S.P.

I'd take that pin just because Thunder were there (best British band you've probably never heard of and still going strong)

An MOR themed pin would be awesome and could tie in with the MOR cruises. They are raffling a Monster Bash on the upcoming 2018 MOR cruise.
