Went with my son on a fishing trip and landed a nice 18lbs king salmon.

I would try the vent first, most likely the issue and an easy test.
If that does not solve it I would rebuild the carb.
A rich engine will be sluggish and bog down, not reving the way it should.
A lean engine will "scream", over rev, run out of gas and die.
Always start on the rich side and work your way down with small adjustments until the engine runs right, sound and feel.
Running rich is never bad for the engine, just poor performance. Running lean is bad.

Quoted from JonCBrand:

Just got home from an overnight trip. Wrightstown, Wi up fox river through 2 locks into GreenBay. Weather was crap Saturday we planned to make it up to Sturgeon Bay but ended up getting a slip at a marina in green bay and ubered to the casino for the night.
I will be making this run again. [quoted image]

Sounds like a nice trip but you should really consider life jackets next time on the water. Especially if drinking beer, accidents happens when you least expect it and you don´t have to be the cause of it.
I was nearly rammed by a boat a few years ago and wouldn´t let anyone on my boat unless they wear a life jacket. It doesn´t matter how warm the water is or how good of a swimmer you are if you get knocked unconscious.
Stay safe, life is precious.
