Getting excited for boating season!

Landed crow mobe first set. That is a tough move for me, so feeling good.

Lake St. Clair in Michigan just north of Detroit. Awesome clean swimming water and sand bottoms with no worry of animals, creatures to step on etc. The clear side is closest to the St. Clair River which gets our water direct from Lake Huron. 29' Baja Outlaw with twin 454 EFI motors. A real smooth ride.

Apparently I need to start a lawn business.. (love your boat)

LOL. Thanks. We took it down the Milwuakee river this Saturday for lunch as they were calling for a snow storm here . We ended up getting less than a inch by the lake.

Tell your son to keep the handle in. #1 mistake that leads to face plant is letting handle out. Doesnt matter if you are just learning to ride or doing flips, handle position is the most important tool you need to learn. If in and you fall most likely fall on your butt.

My 5 year old has amazing body position because I have taught him handle in and low from the beginning. He is already riding switch quite a bit.

Next week we move to the lake, so I will start riding five days a week. Some of the best work outs you can get for sure.

Well I am out for a couple weeks. Landed on the wake last week, body went one way, knee went the other way!

Went with my son on a fishing trip and landed a nice 18lbs king salmon.

I have been working out, basically 6 days a week since the first of the year and I will tell you this, nothing simulates wakeboarding. I am so sore this AM. Those landings are just such high impact. If you are going to ride at a higher level. I would suggest lots of core work, stretching and strength training like push ups and pull ups.

This is a young mans sport. I hit 40 and all my friends look at me like I am on crack for getting out there and pushing it but is just so much fun.

Now time to hit up the elliptical, and core work before riding some more riding later today!

I can see I am going to have to make a trip out your way!!!!

#117 4 years ago

I usually do not stray to off topic areas in the forums I follow, but this was a good diversion. Plus, many Nautiques posted.

You guys should try riding a hydrofoil (I'm assuming you haven't). I still wakeboard, but love riding my foil.

Here is my boat.

Come on out! U can rock the game house and battle pod as well.

I would post some pics of my wife and me but we always ride dirty so we have no one to take pics.

#119 4 years ago

That looks a 03 or 04 210?

#120 4 years ago

It's a 2003 206. Wasn't a fan of the V drive back in the day. I hated how you had to walk across the engine or storage pads to get in or out.

Funny how so much has changed in 10 or 15 years! The newer layouts are awesome and storage is better too.

#121 4 years ago

Yeah, They finally decided to go with a deeper hull. When I first started looking for a boat I got down to either Nautique or Master Craft. Really like the MC it is a great boat to. But the wake on the Nautique is amazing!! I myself love the sundeck my 210 Team get's the job done!!!

After a 5 year absence we are back on the water and it feels great. I love leaving work on Friday afternoon, driving directly to the boat and spending the night onboard.

Funny story . We took our boat from Milwaukee, WI to lower MI for a 10 day boating trip and hit 5 different ports. In this port we went to take the dogs out when we got there and they thought this was grass and both jump right in the water with algae on top. It was hilarious.

My dog would do the same. He loves the water and snow. Sometimes I think he likes snow better but that’s because he is a mommas boy. And she is die hard snowboarding!

Anyone else getting the summer time bug?

#132 4 years ago

Here in California they are slowly implementing a boating license. My wife had to take the test yesterday, I am still grandfathered in for two more years. It will be interesting what it does to the casual boater, and rental market?

Any other states have boating licenses?

#133 4 years ago

NY has had a boaters license requirement for personal watercrafts for years. As far as I know they do not require a license for boats at the moment, but I heard they are going in that direction. I got it back when it was a requirement for operating jet skis so I haven't stayed up to date.

I just checked the regulations here in NY and it looks like they have implemented a timeline based on your age to get a boaters license by 2025. By 2025 all boat operators must have a license. The interesting part is the regulation states renters will not need a license.

"Renting a boat

Persons may rent and operate a motor boat from a livery without first obtaining a boating safety certificate."

We had our dinghy wrapped this winter. Can't wait to get it in the water.

boating license

Don't really know about a boater's license. But we have to have stickers for both state and the local lake I live on. Although I would not be surprised to see something like this come to Illinois.

Maryland does. In all honesty, I cant remember if it was mandatory or just because the size of the boat, but I am pretty sure it is mandatory.

Pa has boaters liscense if born after jan 1st 1982.

I own a hydrostream vamp. Somehow it's not all rotted out. Pictures do it no justice how the brown and gold flake.

Nice to see Nautique well represented here. Here's ours at Lake Anna in VA last summer. More fun than pinball, but crazy expensive.

If I ever hit the lottery this will be mine!! Love my Nautique but I do like the tower on the mastercraft better. Wake really does not matter as both boats put out a huge wake anyway!!

I have had a couple of Hydrostreams. A Vector and a V king. They were quick. My go fast boat now is an Allison XR 2001 RR. It is about stupid fast.

If I had a nice enough place to run it I'd love to own a vector. I could only imagine the insurance nightmare I'd have though. I had a hard enough time insuring the vamp. My agent tried telling me based off hull/length/hp I had a 100mph boat lol.

Even if I had a 100mph boat, would be hard to use in Pittsburgh rivers just based on rec and commercial boats along with the logs/debris than get washed in from rain. Hard to really open it up. Not like a 30hp fishing boat that you run wide open at 30 mph all the time.

#150 4 years ago

I never had a problem with insurance. Finding a time and place to run is a problem. I don't have to deal with barges, just wake boats.
