We're back!

After a disaster in our datacenter took down our server, we are now running Pinside on a brand new server. However, things may not work as expected as we are still polishing the playfield and adjusting some switches! We might be switching to maintenance mode a few times. Hey everyone, Happy to release my first pinsound mix! I have to say this was a lot fun. I am a huge Goldeneye fan when its comes to the game as well as the movie. I used clips from the N64 Goldeneye, the Movie, as well as the Counterstrike Source Mod.

I will be releasing another version with more callouts and SFX changes but I had to stop tinkering and get something out. I am super happy with it so far.

I really did this for me but happy to share it with anyone. Happy to take suggestions. Also big shoutout to Mr_Tantrum DeathHimself for coaching

You can download and check out my mix here:

I've listened to this in person! Top notch. Great work!

Sounds good and would love to have it on mine. I got Pinsound on Tommy and MSF, and love it. Silly question, but, I got to ask. The ramp shots, still hear his car? Can a Pinsound go on a white star? Thanks for your work.

Really great job! I don't own this title but enjoy looking at the video. If I ever did pick it up I would definitely want to add this to the game.

You can still hear his car. I haven’t pulled the clips from the movie yet but I plan to.

Pinsound can go on a white star. You just need a kit that they provide on their website. Just one thing to note the 4 inch speakers they sell are tricky to install. (The mounting holes barely reach the threads in the back box( I definitely recommend their speaker harness and an upgraded set. Huge difference

Thank you. Yea goldeneye isn’t super popular so it’s understandable. But definitely worth the sound upgrade.

Sounds great, definitely following your thread. Certainly keep us posted. I will go with your advice on the upgrades, thanks a lot for sharing.

Just to expand on the pinsound speaker kit. It doesn't natively work with Goldeneye. I had to do some bending of the speaker mounts. As you can see from the photo the pinsound mounting doesn't sit flush. You would need buy an aftermarket set that mounts a bit closer to flush. Still recommend the harness, linked below:

Does this not get a Pinsound +? Please also list what I need for this. The box in the picture does not look familiar. Thanks.

The basic board does not get you speakers, you need to add them extra.

Pinsound+ base board: https://www.pinsound.org/shop/index.php?id_product=44&controller=product&id_lang=1

Sega/Whitestar Adapter, comes with the pinsound board when you select Goldeneye from the dropdown.

2.1 speaker harness: https://www.pinsound.org/accessories/#stereo

2x4inch speaker + 8 inch sub: Any website of your choice, you can get them here but the 4inch speakers don't mount easily and were a pain. https://www.pinsound.org/shop/index.php?id_product=38&controller=product&id_lang=1

I sure like Pinsound speakers. Thanks for all the information. I will get all of it when you get finished. I did this on my Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein recently. Amazing. Goldeneye really needs it. Thanks.

I ordered the Pinsound board and speakers today. This will be great. Thanks again, Boat.

I just installed the full Pinsound package, what a difference. When you open the coin door, no more annoying sounds. Thanks for that, too. The half inch spacers on the top speakers was easy. Great job, Boat.

That’s awesome glad to hear it went smoothly. I’d recommend turning up the bass adjustment on the board by like 20%.

Also a heads up I made a couple changes including replacing the car sounds and a few others, I’ll update it tomorrow

I like the car sounds. What did you replace it with?

The quality of the clips got to me. I took clips from the movie. You can replace them back with originals if you want. I uploaded V1.1 on the pinsound forums. Enjoy!

Ever notice that when you get a free game, you hear the knocker, there is total silence for about 30 seconds? I would think this has nothing to do with your package. Is it supposed to do that?

High score replay? Or credit match at the end of the game?

I haven’t noticed but I’ll check.

You did an outstanding job on this game, though. Sega is well known for its cheesy sound. You totally changed it.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I agree with you. I’m gonna add a few Tweaks here and there. Nothing game changing. Let me know if you have suggestions. I think I’m gonna add more music. to Xenia’s squeeze and take some away from eject.

Did another small update - added some more tracks and changed some around. Definitely worth the download.

Can anyone please post what the install of the pin sound board looks like in Goldeneye? I am wondering if you all had to move any boards around or where you placed the Pinsound Plus board?

Thank you in advance for any help!!

This is the video I followed.

I recommend a good IC chip remover. The one they provide isn’t great.
