This mostly seems like a thread to bait Iceman out to sputter his barely coherent rants about how awesome a game it is.

I'm lucky to live in an area filled with many pinball collectors so I've had a chance to play both the "Promium" and the LE version of this game. I know the go-to answer for it being a turd is "just wait until Lyman!" but he can't fix the clunky mechanics and terrible shots in software, and I know it's not just the one machine I played since it was the same on both of the ones I've played.

The one positive note is the extra cash for Stern should help pay off the playfield delamination costs. So, thanks?

Quoted from DaveH:

Say what you want about the game, but that's the best topper I've seen.

Yes, the game itself is dog shit but that topper is amazing, and I usually hate toppers. No doubt the game is a looker! It's nice to see Stern finally figured out that looking good sells games.

Quoted from iceman44:

When i see your current collection of pins i understand your outrage J dub.

Oh, I didn't realize this was a dick measuring contest.

Calling BM66 "dog shit" is commenting on the game itself, not in context to other games or what you may or may not have in your collection. Personally I prefer a diverse lineup of non-cookie-cutter games and if you go look at my past games, which number in the hundreds, you can see I've had a lot of experience playing many different games over the years. Way more than you. Way, way more - I've been at this for over 20 years.

So, maybe that experience means I have an idea of what plays well and what is a brick-fest clunker, and it has nothing to do with what it costs, although that certainly applies to the "value" proposition it offers.

Quoted from iceman44:

No just a pin measuring contest and we get it now. Zero credibility But "dog shit" is something you understand, I'll admit.

You hide behind some lame smileys, but you're calling AFM and TRON "dog shit"? And then question my credibility?

Really?

Quoted from MapleSyrup:

2 smooth orbits, 2 smooth ramp shots, nice wide target shots, and the roving crane toy (which is awesome). Not to mention the spinning mech which has loads of potential (Admittedly underrealized currently!)

On the ones I've played, the left orbit was very much not smooth and in fact rejected about 50% of the shots to it, plus the left ramp physically shook when a ball rolled on it, eating up a lot of momentum. the shot to the pops is rough and only produces a few hit. The crane toy was fine. The side targets mostly got hit by accident.

I thought this was an objective observation, but perhaps it's as subjective as other opinions.

Anyway, Ice was right about one thing, no game is complete dog shit, I retract my hyperbolic comment. But BM66 doesn't play nicely, and there are many games I'd rather play. I'll leave it there.

Why would I be jealous of someone owning a game I don't like?

Quoted from iceman44:

And why would you care to crap all over it at the same time? Jealous hater!

You argue like my toddler.

Quoted from iceman44:

Well i guess you should know what a turd is looking at your pins.

I know you are but what am I?

I'm rubber and you're glue!

(am I getting the gist of your technique?)

On topic, I watched someone put 6B on a BM66 on location a couple of weeks ago. It was super boring to watch and after he was done he said it wasn't much fun.

No other industry, except maybe console gaming, releases their product unfinished, and even then it's mostly bug fixes - not major components of the gameplay.

Dialed In will be released with at least 1.0 code! What's Stern's excuse?
