It's not a club

Just wanted to share the other side of a BM66 Le owner side.

this game has so many taboos. The price? Codes? It sucks? Yep

I own a LE. Play it with friends, newbs, hardcore fans, kids, etc..since January.

I paid as much as my expectation were. Love the theme. I'm a hard player and diehard collector.
Some might have a hard one on StarWars, I love Batman ( and Gb and aéro. I paid for it. Can we put money aside now?

It f&$nig suck

I played it, a lot, a lot...

"code is so early!!"

You're right. it's a fact.

But let's put aside the fuhkin code.

The actual physical parts, physics and goals of it land to nothing.

It's mounted so cheap. So cheap!

The TABOO question; Lyman: how far can you go with a "dream theme" based on one "super mech" that now nobody cares with a game so short on opportunity.?

Uh-oh...this ought to be an interesting thread.

Agreed

Sometime's money doesn't buy everything................it should.

#6 7 years ago

I'm not sure a rational discussion is possible. So few people have even played one, even fewer own one, and fewer yet are on Pinside.

Can't believe Iceman and Odin aren't here yet...

You purchased the game knowing ALL of that. What's the problem? Play your other 37 pins while you wait.

Hmmm, that begs the question, how "intelligent" are we?

Knowing? Remember? It was in the dark

In the dark about what? We had the option to cancel after the "reveal".

Not everybody is going to be happy with every purchase.

Then again, in case its not apparent the game is far from being done.

The game is sterns worst in some time. By a mile.

Why would people want to point out anything?
Anyone on PinSide who disagrees is clearly wrong.

I am the proud owner of a Batman premium. I'm not going to talk it down because I have good taste. And with that
good taste I only buy the tastiest games.

And there's no way I'd ever buy something that doesn't reflect that good taste.

#21 7 years ago

Scary isn't it?
People with knowledge (including development and industry professionals) and long time collectors stopped trying to answer.
Others simply never started because it seemed overly wasteful.

New hobbyists have the answers.
Old hobbyists that started "all the way back in 2010" have the answers.

The reality could be simple, but people already know guidance from others.

Tastes initially great, or less filling with each iteration...but sometimes there is an unpleasant bitterness afterwards.

Never forget the direct definition of a pinball machine:

A moderately expensive wood box with electronic components and wiring designed to provide entertainment and artwork based on a single theme using a metal ball.

If an owner expects a game to do "magic", that is up to the designer, and what a potential owner really believes can be accomplished based on experience, and not a requirement for a manufacturer to live up to those same expectations whatever they might be.

I will share that code will not fix recycled game designs that were moderately mediocre from 2008.

Oh please Black Knight, impart your great wisdom and knowledge on us with BM66.

Where will it go? How will it end up? I'm looking for enlightened intelligence.

Odin chiming on my post it's like the Pope grabbing my ass; we don't know if he's in or not

#24 7 years ago

Why talk about how F ed up it is and not just simply sell it if you don't like it?

Gonna take a loss?

Get used to that feeling.

Every high priced pin produced is going to take a hit on the secondary market today. Don't like that? Don't buy one.

Of course, because this pinball machine is ALL about an "Us versus them mentality", right?

The snowflakes feelings have me concerned though.

Why would a rich guy give a flying F if he didn't like it?

#28 7 years ago

It is not about the money.

It is about " is it fun?"

Why can guys with money on a game can't say "...meh..7.5/10"

Iceman; and I think you are a funny guy/wise to read. Can you?
Ok if it's 10. You're still funny

yes it sucks in a lot of respects right now, can we please just judge the M fer when its done. If it still BLOWS i'll be the first to admit it. But i already like it and i know what Lyman will do with it.

I played it a few times in the wild. Surprised at how pock marked the central playfield was. The spinning toy, batmobile turntable, looks really cheap. The LCD screen is cool that is probably what sold the game, that and the theme. It shows 1966ish TV episodes. There are 2 ways to serve the ball, shooter rod and a button. The machine indicates that you should serve one way or another to reach the upper playfield. The gameplay is nothing spectacular. The crane toy is cool too, it reminds me of Junk Yard, I've never played BDK.

#33 7 years ago

I'll be honest.

I figured out there was no way I was ever going to see a Fast and Furious, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bassmasters, or any other theme that relates to the 21st century.

And there's no way I'd buy Ghostbusters, some dude with a cell phone or any of these old fart rock band pins. So I picked what I thought was the lesser of all the evils and bought Batman. And lived happily ever after...

#34 7 years ago
Quoted from Cheese_WizardPQ:

Haha
So we all agree (the owner) the the game sucks?

You have 37 pins, and we have some in common, if this was the end of the road for code and it was finished, I'd be beyond pissed.

But its not, and i have faith and actually really like the layout, shots, LCD, theme and potential integration.

Iceman and Odin were true fair guys to chimed on this post. I still think your bucks are better in your pockets

#36 7 years ago

You are probably right. However if you want a new pinball experience you have to pick one that you think sucks less than whatever else is out there. And right now, they almost all suck.

#37 7 years ago

Only missing Crazylevy saying I should kill myself instead of it and the case is done.

AFMR does not.

I won't ever regret buying this pin. Because it falls right in line with Ac/dc prem, TWDLE and GBLE for me.

That's where it ends for now. I could care less about Star Wars or anything else coming out in 2017.

So, the smart thing for me to do is shift over to a Golden Tee machine and say F all this pinball drama and expense.

Gotta start using some of my intelligence.

#40 7 years ago

I played enough AFM back in the 90s to rip that stroke of luck hole three times it's normal size. I said "new" pinball experience.

Enjoyed BM66 at a barcade recently...
But really wish CheezWiz's avatar could just flip over and chime in already.

Coughlan's law, "bury the dead, all they do is stink up the joint" No remakes or vault editions needed

I love pinball mentality. Omg, Aerosmith is F ing great, its the sleeper pin of recent times.

I love Borg and he is my favorite pin designer, period, but AS is NOT a revolution in pinball. Yes its a ton of fun and in large part its because it has the LCD!!! But the layout just isn't that great, come on.

While i love great art, and its great, so is GBLE, but artwork is totally meaningless in the grand scheme of pinball fun factor. Look at Ac/dc.

AS is a "sleeper" because the PRO costs $5100!!!!

If Stern throws out a reasonable Star Wars PRO with LCD its GAME OVER!!!

People hate BM66 for the most part because they can't get one for less than $8k now. Maybe much less later but that's it.

#44 7 years ago

Yeah this game's so bad I think I'll send it to Otaku and let him set it up in his basement.

#45 7 years ago

Odin, I love the new avitar.

The night stalker is one of the best shows ever on tv.

#46 7 years ago

I'm a thus far, slightly disappointed at the speed of code update BM66 0wner, but I'm not ready to throw it out. X-Men was much, much worse in the beginning from my experience. Also, don't we already have enough "bitch about BM66 threads?" Fine, add a few more, but that's not going to lead to a $4,500 pro version of BM66 for those who are twisting in agony over the price.
DI, Aliens, SW, and who knows what after those, are on the horizon if you're unhappy about the price of BM66.

Aerosmith's collection of recycled toys is significantly more entertaining than that shitty turntable. Lyman will make Batman not suck, but he can't work miracles (e.g. fix hardware).

One of my favorite shows of all time as a kid. Kolchak the Night Stalker! Loved vampire shows/movies ever since. Darin McGavin was great in that show.

Respectfully disagreeing, Aerosmith's collection of shitty toys is significantly LESS entertaining than that awesome turntable. See how that works?
