What should I do... I have the 2010 run webbed rails.. 2012-11-06_13.33.12.jpg2012-11-06_13.33.12.jpg

Chrome
I think those webbed rails are the custom Steve Ritchie version. My late 2010 Stern webbed rails have narrower/smaller gaps in the webbing.

I think the black is fine...though my second choice is blue

#4 11 years ago

I may be in the minority on this one but I think black trim looks best on SM.

Saw a set of those that were in metallic blue with the metal behind the webbing in a metallic red, and it looked awesome.

I've wondered the same question to for my Spidey.
And I've reached the decision that I think Spidey is one of the games that just looks good as it is Black. Red would be to much on the cabinet and so would blue.

The cabinet already has a lot of black on it, and that kind of ties it all together.

I've powder coated my Tron blue and my Iron Man red.
I just can't see a reason to powder coat Spidey any color. It looks too good as is black.

I like it black.. chrome is what I'm leaning towards when/if I decide to do it. I got this awesome illusion film that i put under the webbing.. maybe I'll get blue under there and see if that touch of color gives me a cooler look..

I saw one in a pub and tend to take pictures of pins I play. The local operator pimps his pins pretty good but personal wasn't a fan of this particular blue - looked a little too plastic - hope it helps.

I reckon black nickel finish with black mirror blades

The picture upload function doesnt seem to be working today..

I think black nickel would look super awesome.. or even clearcoated glossy black powdercoat.

CHROME for me..... that chrome coin door looks pretty sweet too.

Black all the way and rip that tacky chrome t molding off the backbox and replace it with bumpy black.
First thing to go when I get a Stern game.

Hey butterfly girl, hat is very nice looking pin, heaps better than the blue one I saw.

#20 11 years ago

I like the black but the last one with the dark blue and red that matches the colors on the art is nice. When the coating doesn't color match the game, it's not my style.

#21 11 years ago

Gotta go with Butterfly's. The key is getting the right blue, and she has it spot on. The webbing and red accents make it even better. How did you get that?! Awesome job.

#22 11 years ago

Phoebe, your SM looks better than last time I played it! Seems like the more your games get to travel the better they end up looking.

Can't wait to see that Bad Cats: Nip Edition

Gotta agree. That is the blue I had in mind when voted. The coin door is awesome!

Alot of the blues I saw I didn't like...they didn't match. So I custom did it myself. I used automotive paint and clear coat. I went to my local auto paint store, where I get my clear coat and the salesman gave me a book of all automotive manufacture paint colors to compare to the cabinet colors...he told me I could take my pick of any color in the book and he would make it for me. The weird thing was when I got it home and started comparing...the best color was actually the same exact color as my F-150 (it is in the background of the 2nd pic). Then I picked out a red, and 2 silvers to compliment it and got down to the custom painting. It was ALOT of work, but I am happy with how it turned out. I ended up painting the apron and shooter housing as well, so everything matches.

If you like chrome I would do it in black chrome. Keeps it black which looks good on SM but will give it some depth.

#27 11 years ago

Awesome job Phoebe.

If it was available, I would love to see a black chrome as well. That would be very hot.

I'd like it in blue.
