Having issues with my Bally’s corvette. Out of nowhere my F111 blew. Replaced it and it blew again. Looking on line seems like the main cause for this fuse blowing is when something is misconnected. I did not change anything. I am trying to follow the schematics. But they are hard to follow. Looking for some guidance. Also the motor and the racetrack quit working. That’s what got me looking.

Look in the manual and see what f111 fuse is associated to or what it controls. The info will be in the beginning pages of the manual showing the driver board.Post back and we'll take it from there

Read zaza's post. I checked the wrong manual. Sorry.

It is the 20 Volt circuit, used for flashers, motor driver and slave board.

- Start with bridge BR.4 (page 3-9)
-PCB's on page 3-23 to 3-27.

Isn’t it BR3? I finally see where that is located. How do i test it? And what are the PCB’s?

Thanks

The PCB's (circuit boards) on the pages 3-23 to 3-27 are the ones that use the 20Volt flasherpower, so if something is wrong on on of these boards, it could blow fuse F111

Nope, BR3 is the 50V rectifier, Br4 is for 20Volt and fused by F111

Great input. Heading out of town for a couple days. Will stay in touch

Thanks

Do i need the fuse in place to do the testing above?

#9 6 years ago

When you use the methode with the probes on J102, then the fuse must be placed in the fuseholder.

Without a fuse in place, you can put the probe on the left clip of the fuseholder where the probe was on position (3+4) in the animation.

Can i just through any fuse in there to create an electrical path? Just for the test with no power? I blew my fuse and don’t have a new one yet

#11 6 years ago

Sure, any fuse will work fine for the measurement.

#12 6 years ago

Just got back in town. Here are my measurements. Something is wrong
Red to 1 black to tp7 425. Number slowly increases to 425
Red to 3 black to tp7 521
Black to 1 red to tp5 dead short
Black to 3 red to tp5 543

Thoughts?
Thanks

This is the top image on pg 3-9. Should that read BR4 instead of 3?

F111 sure is lucky.

BR4 is correct.
Your readings are showing the problem. BR4 is shorted.
It's a fairly easy repair to make, but if you don't have PCB repair experience, send it to a pro. Perhaps send your MPU along with it for an NVRAM install. I can take care of all of that if you'd like. LMK. See contact info below.

It’s just a matter of desoldering BR4 and replacing it correct? I have done that with plugs and chips. So i have no problem doing that.

Thanks

Yes. It's easier to cut the bridge off the board, then remove each leg individually and suck the holes clean.

You learn as you go.

There is Pinwiki : http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

Basic electronic searches. And Youtube has lots of short how to videos.

And asking here. You'll pick things up pretty fast. And someday be able to help others.
