I have read through many post to try and find the answers. I’m having a hard time figuring out why my DMD is blank. All boards seem to be functioning properly. All LED lights on the boards are on and flashing correctly. Checked all fuses and found that the F4 fuse was blown, replaced with a 3/8 slow blow fuse. Also found that the F3 vertical fuse older was broken. Replaced the F3 vertical fuse cap and installed a new 3/8 slow blow fuse. Powered game on but still have a blank DMD. Not sure what to test from here to determine if the DMD is bad itself or if it could still be something else. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Robb

You didn't by chance try to disconnect or connect the DMD while the machine was powered up? The PAL chip in the DMD controller board has a bad habit of failing if you disconnect the DMD while the machine is powered up.

From Pinwiki.com:

4.11.2.1 Failed U8G PAL

A consequence of removing or connecting DMD controller power with the game powered on is that the U8G PAL may fail. If this PAL fails, the DMD controller may not boot (the LED will not blink) or it may send garbage to the display. If you are having display problems and you've verified correct power (see below), there is a good chance that U8G has failed.

No, I didn't disconnect anything with the game powered up or plugged in.
The game plays like it's supposed to. Just a blank DMD. Not sure how to check power going to DMD

Ok, so I have measured the power at the DMD board. Here are my findings.....

Pin 1 -114.8
Pin 2 -102.9
Pin 6 +5.09
Pin 7 +12.05
Pin 8 +11.1

Everything looks to be in line except Pin 8. I believe it should read somewhere around +62. What would cause this to be so low?

Failed section of the boards HV circuitry.
You’ll need to send that out if you don’t have adequate PCB repair experience.

I’m having this issue, how did you get it repaired? Not sure what you did

It likely involved replacing the components of the high voltage section on the power supply. Great Plains Electronics doesn't have kits in stock, but they do have the needed components listed at their site here, with instructions at the bottom of the page: https://www.greatplainselectronics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=GTLB3-HVP-KIT

I lucked out on this one, it was the second Display fuse that was blown, 3/8 I think. Didn’t see it there the first time through, a bunch of wires was hiding it.
