Quoted from PinballGurus:

Does anyone know of a replacement for this board? I haven’t seen any.

There is a Rottendog replacement available (I am also working on a replacement board for myself). You don't need a replacement board. That's overkill to fix this problem.

If you're not in a hurry (and prepared for a "small" drive) there's a Northwest Pinball and Arcade Show repair party on Sunday 23rd of this month in Milton, WA (near Fife and Tacoma). There will be plenty of experts there to help you repair the board. Check the show or NW buyers thread for more information.

I didn’t see the Rottendog board for Congo on their site? I saw a WPC89 display controller; but not for Congo. Curious where you found them?

The product you want is WAV095 (or WAV095-1). See http://rottendog.us/wav095.html for official Rottendog information.

Quoted from PinballGurus:

I can definitely install the kit if I can find it. My local guy at Norvac in Salem was out of the exact parts I needed. Must be popular parts.

I order the separate parts to build my own "kits". If you really want a kit I think you could probably find one on ebay.

Without any evidence (i.e. wild guess) I'd bet that your +62V is bad.

Quoted from Beechwood:

Had the same thing on my DMD--- Demo Man just a few weeks ago. Turned on, fine for a few and then faded out.
Ended up getting a high voltage DMD piggy board from pinball life. $53.
Boom... problem solved and it was a 5 minute install.

The board is not directly plug-n-play compatible with WPC-95. Williams slightly changed the high voltage circuit from WPC-89 to WPC-95. The WPC-95 board transformer secondary plug contains both the secondaries for audio and video that will need to be split off in order to use this high voltage power board.

Quoted from PinballGurus:

I just saw where you said I should pull the fuses. Would this have cause the color DMD to not work? I didn’t pull any.

No. Those fuses are for the high voltage. ColorDMD works on the +12VU (low voltage) supply.

If you've reached the limit of your knowledge then I think you have (at least) two choices:

1) Send the board for repair.

2) Buy a new replacement board.

Quoted from PinballGurus:

I got the DMD to work in the Congo game. 12v was good. Just not display for Congo; only the menu.

You've completely confused me here. What's your definition of "work" and what's your definition for "display"? I define "works" as both

1) It is lit up (you have the correct high voltage).
2) You can actually read what the game is displaying.

They are TWO separate problems and should be dealt with separately. ColorDMD eliminates the first part of the definition because it runs off the +12VU supply. It doesn't eliminate the second part of the definition.

You can differentiate on the diagnosis by swapping into other machines that are known good.

If you can enter the test menu then you should run T.11 - the display test. That will tell you if there is a logic problem on the AV board.
