Sweet!

Quoted from xsvtoys:

and The Martian being recent efforts that were just horrible.

Quoted from RobT:

I'm glad that you brought up The Martian. I saw that in the theater, based largely on the fact that it was directed by Ridley Scott and it was getting very good reviews from the critics.
WTF?! That movie was as "meh" as they come. Overall it was a real snoozefest, with only a few redeeming scenes. Totally forgettable film.

Well I've got to disagree with you guys on that one. My whole family LOVED The Martian and we've watched it multiple times. I don't buy a lot of movies anymore but I bought that one.

This is the movie I'm most looking forward to.

Just saw it and here is my one word review:

Masterpiece

I get not liking it. What I don't get is loving the first one and not liking this one?

#1 critique....the pacing was way to slow. ??? The pacing is virtually identical to the first one! Both are slow scenic/mood movies....not action flix.

2:43 is super long?

I watched the directors cut of apocalypse now....nearly 5 hours...and I loved it.

The Blade Runner Universe does not explain itself in detail. You get thrown into it and you have to figure it out. Might help if you read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"

I remember when the first one came out...I was a freshman in high school. Went with a small group of friends. We walked out of the theater and on of the guys says "what the fuck did we just watch?" "What a waste of time that was". My only thought was "I LOVED IT".

I really appreciate they didn't go full-on robot revolution.

They're not robots.

Quoted from Kkuoppamaki:

Was it the girl to find Deckard, but if so how did she get the memories implanted?

Implanting memories in replicants is her primary job. Well creating them anyway but if that's your expertise then I would imagine you know how to implant them.

Quoted from iceman44:

Wow
Have to admit, my daughter’s boyfriend really liked it
But I actually enjoyed doing my Colonoscopy prep last night more than watching BR
About the same feeling though

Just had my first colonoscopy a few weeks ago. The dr. told my wife I was a perfect asshole. Don't have to go back for 10 years.

but this one is worth owning IMO.

Plus all the "extras" are pretty good. I thought the prologue short films actually enhanced my enjoyment of the main film.

Maybe I'm not steeped enough in Blade Runner lore

Clearly

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

Well like...when was this revealed, before they started getting pregnant and shit?

How about when he blew holes in them and blood went everywhere in the original?

Quoted from CrazyLevi:

I don't remember anybody in the original movie saying these things were organic. They are "replicants," and their eyes were designed by some dude in chinatown. They are artificial - like robots. Terminators.

replicants...Tyrell Corporations tagline - "More Human than Human". Artificial yes...robot terminators...no. They never even implied that.
