Blackout - Spinners Causing Skipped Balls

I've had this game a few months and have enjoyed the heck out of it.

One problem: if you rip the spinner and drain SDTM, the spinner keeps going, registers some points on the next player or ball while the ball is in the drain and the next player or ball gets skipped.

Interestingly, the location Blackout I've played has the same issue.

Does anyone have any ideas for a fix other than mechanically slowing down the spinner? I'm thinking that is the needed fix---hitting the orbit occasionally will score two orbit hits.

Bump---any advice on this? Anyone else have the problem?
