I'm trying to find the best way to restore these posts on my TSPP. This one isn't too visible under the ramps but there's one to the right of the garage that is and it's almost as bad. I have some LocTite rust dissolving Naval Jelly but that would just leave shiny spots everywhere the rust was, right? What would be the best way to blacken these again? In the past I've used the Birchwood Casey gun bluing on some old steel antique door hinges but they really came out more of a shiny dark gray than the deep, more matte black that these originally looked like so I'm not sure that's the answer. Thanks.

Chock it in a drill and turn it with red scotchbrite to remove the rust and scuff it up
Then lightly coat it with SEM self etching metal primer black.
