I've got a black rose I recently picked up. The game has an issue where it can't make the Broadside shot no matter how perfect the shot is. From the cannon or the flippers, a direct shot will never stick, instead it always bounces out. I noticed that there's supposed to be a gate in front of the hole that traps the ball, but it's missing.

The part number according to the manual is A-14868. I just can't seem to find this part anywhere. I've checked several places on line, ebay, etc. A google search for A-14868 Pinball just brings up several Black Rose parts lists, but no one selling the part.

Only the wire is missing from the gate. I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck making their own gate wire, or if anyone has a suggestion for sourcing a different gate for that spot on the playfield.

Any advice is appreciated.

So, I decided to give this a go on my own. Since I had the frame and just needed the gate wire, I went to a bicycle shop and bought a couple of spokes. I cut the threaded end off the spoke, then started bending it with two pairs of pliers until it formed the correct shape of the missing gate. I then put it in the playfield and tested the height and angle of the opening. After a bit of tweaking, it seems to work pretty well. Cannon shots no longer bounce out all the time. Hopefully it stands up to the test of time.
