Quoted from CyberNinja24:

Pretty easy answer. Mine came with normal, non lightning bolt, flippers. Was this game original sold with lightning bolt flippers? I never gave it a second thought. Too busy blowing up ships

I know this question is 4 years old, and if it has been answered or more info given, let me know, but my take on the lightning flipper is it DID come with them, and the hassle of changing out 3 flippers may be unnecessary for some people. The reason there are both types/sizes out there does not mean they came both ways originally. If it has regular flippers it just means the operator probably replaced the lightning flippers with standard ones because the lightning flippers were not generally stocked by operators or distributors, so they replaced it with what they had when it broke. The fact that some of them out there have lightning flippers indicates they came with lightning flippers because so many people would not change out the regular flippers to odd ball sized lightning flippers.
