Meant to say they have been in the protective coating for an extended period due to the delays waiting for MMR
Quoted from drinkduffbeers:The protective coating seems to have reacted with my black mirror blades leaving them streaky. Any tips for polishing them back or are they beyond repair?

Is that adhesive residue? If so you might try rubbing alcohol. If not you will have more hope using a Polish not a compound.
Polish should not remove the coloring but a compound likely will. Try a small spot towards the back or even the backside if possible first.

Many thanks for the advice. I just used polish in the end and they have come up ok.
That has to go down as one of the most frustrating afternoons since I joined the hobby trying to remove that protective film one tiny piece at a time
