Not mirror. I used the side art from pinballlife. And I think the topper is the best in pinball!

And new code
Quoted from Photopin:I've had my BKSOR Premium for about a year now and still haven't figured out what this line is for. I've never seen a score on this line. It is always zero.

That's for the super orbits, super ramps, super lanes, etc... Once you get a super feature(s) and drain the ball, it is cashed in for eob bonus points.
Another way to cash in super features (via a super jackpot) is by performing a successful mangasave.

That's what I thought it could be, but for some reason the bonus does not show up on my machine. I've intentionally not used the magnasave just to see if the super bonus shows up on the tabulation screen but it still comes up 00.

Seems to come up on my LE. Presume you have the latest code etc?
Here's a point in a video where I can see it. My son was just killing me, as seems to be the way these days.. :/

Speaking of which, that reminds me.. got me wondering if the prev. hits on Black Knight carry forward if you make it all the way back to him...
Also, which retro mode does it repeat for the 3rd spelling of knight?
Quoted from koji:Also, which retro mode does it repeat for the 3rd spelling of knight?
Black Knight multiball. It seems to alternate between the two.

I've got the latest code. I'm wondering if something is turned off on mine because I'm not seeing scored there.

It's possible! I would do a factory reset to see if that clears it up.
I still haven't figured out why no score ever shows up on the Super Features line. I just did a factory reset and there's still nothing showing up. I tried with using the magnasave and with just letting the ball drain but nothing is showing up on that line. Is there some feature turned off that I don't know about?
My software is still on 1.01 and even draining immediately after starting a super feature, I show points applied in the bonus.

There might st be something switched off on my machine
Quoted from Chalkey:Tim seems to be MIA here and on Led Zep.
Tim does not care. He was paid and now he is done assisting us with our machine.

It‘s not on Tim to decide what he is assigned for. - So either bully Stern or ask Tim (nicely) to do it in his free time.
Quoted from DS_Nadine:It‘s not on Tim to decide what he is assigned for. - So either bully Stern or ask Tim (nicely) to do it in his free time.
Why don't you ask him nicely since you are such an expert at it?
Clearcoat is still drying on Led Zep with feature requests / bugs and no code update since 7/22. I don't know what gives but it's not looking good for anything new in BKSoR.
Dwight and Tim don't seem to keep at it with quality of life / late code updates but I feel like most of the other guys do. Maybe they're being saddled with doing the work on stern connected stuff or something but it still makes me a sad panda.
I just wish they added an adjustment to allow stealing ball locks in the catapult.
But realistically, considering how poorly this game sold, it's unlikely that Stern will put any more resources into it. Shame really.
Who knows, last code update was less than a year ago still (barely) ...
It was about 2 years hiatus to fix?? Ghostbusters.
Maybe we need to give Tim a chance to be the hero on this.
That-said, overall, the game code is really pretty good for what it is. Lots to love in this game as-is. I'm currently having a blast competing with my kid on monster champion scores.. had no idea how key the upper loop was to really boost this.. I was wondering if there is an equivalent on the Pro model for this feature.
And as always, code is code.. if it annoys a clever or motivated person to try to figure out how to hack or replace the game code, that's always a possibility.. I know the assets are already extractable with pinballbrowser etc.
Quoted from newpinbin:Why don't you ask him nicely since you are such an expert at it?
I'm satisfied with the game as it is and why would I ask for you, since you're so rude?
I finally resolved my 'Super Features' issue. It turns out that the 1.02 update which I never installed because so many people said it really didn't do much, included a fix for this specific issue. It also explains the Super Feature scoring which I could never quite figure out...mainly because I wasn't getting it if I didn't use the Magna-Save.

Quoted from Deez:What're the toppers going for currently? I'm about to list mine.
$500. I’ll paypal my money to you.

Ouch. I’ll take it under advisement! In all seriousness, those toppers are selling for 2000-2500. Try it there and see how long it lasts.
I recently played a Premium on location and I realized that the "Add-a-Ball", "Add", and "Time" inserts were differently colored than my LE at home.
My LE (May 24, 2019, #466):
"Add-a-ball": Yellow
"Add" and "Time": Orange/Amber
On location Premium:
"Add-a-ball": Green
"Add" and "Time": Red
Google images shows most machines in the wild of all model types are the same as my LE. I'm thinking they must've changed to Yellow/Orange inserts very early in production. I'm curious if anyone on here also has the Green/Red inserts and what their production date is.

Interesting catch. My late run LE is like yours.
Found a set of PowerBladez for my machine. Fairly easy install (would have been easier with 2 people).
One question. I removed the screws and washers holding the flipper bolts in to apply these. They ended up covering the screw holes. Do I need these screws?

Yes, Stern is going to do a new run of toppers specifically for the Premium + model when it goes on the line. LOL

I agree. The screw on mine just keeps coming loose and the plastic either keeps falling right into the ramp or left against my side art. I ended up taking mine off. I would love something cool to replace it with. It doesn't have to be a knight.

My old pro would often tilt to the right and hold the ball up on the ramp. Used to piss me off! I pulled it till before I sold it.
I appreciate the modding suggestions, thanks everyone.
Whenever an official modder makes one, you've got my money.
I just finished writing up the instructions for a DIY Pedal mod you can use on BK:SoR to activate the magna save without taking your hands off the flippers.
I made this DIY writeup specifically for BK:SoR and Godzilla, but it works for any machine with an action button you'd like to put it on.

New code up for pro/Prem/LE.
LE V1.10 - November 23, 2021
==========================
Fixed:
- Fixed an issue that could award the Shield hurryup value multiple times when
the shield shot is hit.
- Fixed an issue that caused the incorrect music to play during the Sand Worm
mode when the alternate soundtrack was selected.
Tweaked:
- Changed the backpedaling speech frequency default to "OCCASSIONAL."
- Added adjustment "UPPER PLAYFIELD TARGET SPOTS SHOTS" that defaults to YES.
Competition install sets it to NO, and does not allow the Light Lock target
on the upper playfield to spot monster mode shots.
- Black Castle Mode:
- Changed default mode time to 200 seconds.
- Added a ball saver when the player starts Black Castle.
- Added additional ball savers every time the player hits an outer shot to
progress the mode.
New:
- Added 2 Challenge Modes, selectable at game start with unique
high score leaderboards:
- Added Retro Black Knight Multiball challenge mode.
- Starts with 3 balls in play. Score multiplier is set by the
number of balls in play.
- When the player drains down to a single ball in play, a timer counts
down for 10 seconds until the flippers lose power and the mode ends.
- Added The King's Ransom Multiball challenge mode:
- 60 second mode timer.
- Unlimited balls in play until the timer ends.
Stern Insider Connected:
- Added Connectivity Ready -
- The game can have a connectivity kit installed and be connected to
STERN INSIDER CONNECTED.
- Once connected you can log in and start earning Achievements.
- To log in, hold your QR code over the scanner. When you see you are
logged in - push start. By default, the game will automatically start
the game for everyone that is logged in with one button press.
- Before you press start, while the login screen is up, the most recently
logged in player can use the flipper buttons to move which player position
they will be in.
- After the game, by default, players will have a few seconds to press
start and all stay logged in. The game will start all games with one
press of the start button.
- Added Achievements -
- There are 68 achievements you can now earn if you are logged in.
- Achievements will pop up after you have received them as soon as they
can. Also, they are seen at the start of end of ball bonus if you
received any that ball.
- You can see all the achievements and how they are earned in instant
info or on the web site insider.sternpinball.com
- Your name will displace PLAYER # in the main score frame.
- If you are logged in your high score entry will default to your initials.
You will still be able to change them.
Moved to System 2.97:
- Updated to nodeboard firmware/protocol v0.80.0
- Connectivity support for Spike 2 games.
- Added adjustments for Login and Play Again display timers:
AD_NET_LOGIN_TIMER - "INSIDER LOGIN TIMER" default 30 sec
AD_NET_PLAY_AGAIN_TIMER - "INSIDER PLAY AGAIN TIMER" default 20 sec
- GAME RESTART (hold start button) behavior change:
Holding the start button on ball 2 or greater will follow the
logic of the AD_START_BUTTON_BEHAVIOR adjustment.
If (AD_GAME_RESTART == YES) and (AD_START_BUTTON_BEHAVIOR ==
ADV_START_BUTTON_BEHAVIOR_ALL_LOGGED_IN) holding the start button on
ball 2 or greater will restart the game for as many
players as is necessary to accommodate the users that are logged in.
If there are not enough credits to restart the game for the necessary
number of players, the game will not be restarted.
- Address Insider Connected game registration corner cases.
- Login changes:
* When a user logs in during a game in progress and the player up slot
is occupied, assign the user in the first open slot from lowest
player to the highest player.
* When a user joins a game in progress, award achievements that were
earned up to that point.
* When user authorization failure, remove the user from the session.
- Added audits for connectivity games and scanner use
- Added Standard Adjustment "LCD DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS" to allow dimming of LCD
display.
- Upon entering the Service Menu for the first time after a software update,
a screen will display the game and system version numbers. This screen will be
displayed for a minimum of 1 second, and is dismissed by the enter button.
This replaces the dots display previously shown at power on after an update.
- Added Standard Audit "Total Power Ons" which will display the number of
times the machine has been power cycled (Spike2 only). This audit was added in
system 2.45 and is not included for display.
- Turn on cabinet lights, if installed, when in the Service Menu.
- Update HSTD RESET COUNT adjustment to increment/decrement by 100s when >= 100 and
by 10s when < 100
Nice update!
Not sure I want my kids to learn about the 60 secs unlimited multi ball mode on the other hand.
After more than a year since the last code update, and all the chatter and build-up since then, this is a bit underwhelming to me. Nice they added a ball save to Black Castle but this code drop is just being driven by the desire for Stern to add the Insider Connected feature and generate another revenue stream (with a couple of fixes and tweaks thrown in). The pessimist in me says that if it wasn't for the Stern Insider Connected feature, there wouldn't be a code update for SOR. Could you imagine the outrage if a new SOR code drop included ONLY the Stern Insider Connected feature?
Would love to be proven wrong....perhaps this is a restart of more regular SOR updates?

I for one am happy to see something come along with the insider connected feature. Honestly, I think enough people are interested in that feature that they could have easily gotten away with just adding it. The game is old (in the world of Pinball) now and so any attention is more than welcome as far as I'm concerned.
While it isn't the catapult multiball I was hoping to be added to the pro, I will say the Black Castle tweaks will be a game changer. This will make the knight much easier to deal with, and RAGE multiball will become a much more feasible goal.
The challenge modes are alright....a decent way for more people to experience RANSOM I guess. I still would have loved to see more ways to earn KNIGHT letters to help get there in-game. With the changes to Black Castle, I have a feeling RANSOM will now be the hardest goal to achieve.
Glad to see this update. It's not everything the game needs, but at least it's a step in the right direction and certainly better than nothing. I'm looking forward to seeing RAGE more than once a year, LOL!
