Replaced the transistor on the MPU 327 , the diode , the coil , and the sleeve. Powered back up and sling tried to lock up again . Disconnected power before burned up transistor but got better of the board. Now have burned board and right sling that tries to lock up. The board still works just a little toasty. Thought I saw a spark in area under playfield near center drops or ball lock on lower pf. Fearful of trying to turn on . Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Tried disconnecting the special solenoid switch connector?

Check the diode on the coil. Also take a close look at the wiring going to the coil, and look especially close at the wire bundle that runs along the bottom edge of the playfield. Sometimes that gets pinched.

Does it lock on when you turn the machine on or just when you start a game?

I have no idea what the " special solenoid switch connector" is. The diode is ok . The wiring looks good , no signs of pinching. It only locks up when I start a game.
