Hi,

While swapping the playfield of a black knight 1980, I would like to put 2 new magnets with the appropriate ref, but I do no understand how to remove the old one from its bracket. There is no screw and the energised metallic cylinder is locked by a rubber/plastic ring.

Does anyone know what to do ?

Thank you for your help

I never replaced one but... maybe grind off the core's rivet to remove, then tap the core for a screw and lock washer?
Are the old magnets actually defective?

Exacto knife that plastic ring, or simply force it off.

Thanks for your responses,

Not sure that the magnet itself or the relay is faulty. As Anyway I put all (available) new parts under the playfield, I wanted to put new ones.

But once replaced, it needs to be fastened again. What would you use ?

Thanks you

I'm not sure if it would would matter if the magnet was not secured to the metal as it was before. I imagine as long as there was no significant play , you will be ok as the bracket itself will be holding the magnet.

Does not seem to be 100% secure. It is surprising that the winding is sold alone.

I ll try then to reuse the old one, safer

Thanks for your time
