Have you tried going back to 44’s or 47’s (incandescent bulbs)? Personally I can’t stand LEDs

Sounds to me like the end of game bonus thing because you just noticed it when friends were over. Same thing happens to me on pharaoh. I forget about the bonus cause I only play 1 player games

Once you get the pf clean. 2-3 coats of blitz2000 is what I put on my sys7 games with original pf’s

I like to go this route also. Mostly because i re-use old GE bulbs. I hate LEDS and the new Eiko bulbs are really crappy.

Sadly GE bulbs are becoming unobtanium.

Not a lot of meat there to work with. you would probably have to Notch the "Neck" of the cabinet.
