Quoted from hawknole:Looking good, I am not a fan of the spotlight on the lower playfield, generally speaking the light deficiency in Black Knight is in the upper playfield and that is the character of the pin.
Yeah I agree the lower playfield probably doesn't need the spotlight I'm still toying with it at the moment but I am pleased with the 2 spotlights I have on the upper playfield plays great in the dark!
Quoted from hawknole:Question: I have an extra 6 1/2" full range poly cone speaker. Can I just tap off my other speaker and install the 2nd one directly behind it without worrying about over working the stock audio chip? Or should I just pass on the whole idea?
I would not recommend that unless you can retain the correct ohm rating combined between the 2 speakers so you don't kill your amp on the soundboard! There are other solutions however for $30 you can get a nice audio upgrade if you want to install that extra speaker you have. I put one in my haunted house and the sound shakes the house with an 8" subwoofer and a nice 6 1/2" coax to get a full range. I plan on putting the same setup in my black knight shortly. I bought it at parts express online.
Quoted from Black_Knight:You should change the name to the Green Knight.
Sorry, I'm not a fan of those LEDs behind the bg.
Green is the prototype color I'm still tweaking the lights a little. Just got it in today. We make a lot of friends here with negative comments!
LEDs never photograph very well! They always look better in person. Personally I find white and off white lights very dull/boring in pinball machines. And you continue your negative comments if you thought it was a bad led job, that sir is something I would keep to myself. I'm here to help others and share what I'm up to. I'm not here to shit on others parade. But continue to do so if it brightens your day sir!
Quoted from ryan1234:What is the best alternative mpu for Black knight?
I have read about problems with rottendog boards...
Thanks Ryan
Send your board for repair. Williams is your best option
You should only need 5v D.C. To power those leds. Each ribbon cable should be marked with a pin 1 side usually a red stripe down one entire side of the ribbon. Every plug on the board should also have a pin 1 marking. I have made this mistake before. Make sure your pin one is correct on each and every ribbon cable.
